Don't waste your time. Poor service, worse food!

This sounded like an interesting place to visit for food. It looked quite promising as we got picked up at the pier in a boat to get taken to the restaurant. The decor is very nice and it looked quite grand. However this soon changed once we got inside the restaurant. The customer service was... read more

My wife and I have been to Hong Kong quite often, so much so that our friends say it is our second home. This time was special though...I wanted to make it a memorable birthday for my beloved wife, so I signed up for the Aviator round the harbor cruise, capped off by a dinner on the much acclaimed Jumbo... I visited this place 25 years ago when it sat out in Aberdeen harbour and was a bustling icon in Hong Kong. Today it is looking its age, has lost its mojo, and has been engulfed by its surroundings to the point that you can almost jump onto it from the edge of the enveloping marina. The staff are nothing... More

We went for lunch with our Hong Kong guide and another couple. As it was the second day of Chinese New Year, the restaurant was crowded with large families celebrating the holiday. Nevertheless, our party was seated in about 20 minutes. Note that the 1st and 2nd floors are separate restaurants with separate waiting lists and similar but not quite... More

This was not the experience we expected. Food needed to be ordered from a menu, not displayed in carts at the tables. Extremely expensive.

We visited here as part of a night tour of Hong Kong. It's obviously a tourist trap and service is quick and impersonal - 'bums on seats' The food was surprisingly good and the overall tour good value. If you're only in HK for a couple of days, there are more atmospheric places to go, but, if you have more... More

Had lunch here a part of a day tour. Very much a tourist attraction. The eight or so courses were all served without any fuss, and one got the impression that the main function of the staff was to serve you as quickly as possible, in order to make way for the next group. Overall a pleasant experience

Part of a tour I expected the meal at best to be average. To my delight it turned out to be the best meal I have had since leaving home. Fresh, tasty and varied were the 10 courses. Sure the service was so, so, but not bad enough to detract from the pleasure we had. Great way to finish our... More

I had dinner at the Jumbo Floating Restaurant as part of a tour. The eight course dinner was mediocre at best; soggy with little flavor. The service is gruff and impersonal. There are so many good restaurants in Hong Kong, it would be a shame to go out of your way to go to Aberdeen just to eat at the... More

We got the bus up to Aberdeen and walked along the waterfront and almost paid to get a boat to the restaurant but at the end of the front there it was a free boat transfer to the floating retaurant. The trip on the waterway is brilliant allowing you to see the various boats house boats and busy waterway with... More
