Do this once...

Like other reviewers, I agree this is a "must see" for at least one occasion. The food can be expensive - but our meals were great, and service acceptable. If you can manage it, you'll be better making your own way there. For those on a short stay or a bit intimidated by Hong Kong first up, then... read more

We went here because we had seen the replica of this restaurant in Amsterdam. The food was good! The aquarium/musum on the bottom floor was very interesting. The ride on the ferry was nice, and the views were nice.

It seems this is a must do for most tourists, but I feel that value for money stops with the free ferry ride . Jumbo Kingdom itself looks stunning on the Harbour and the decor is lovely, the food undoubtedly is delicious and the service is good although neither of our waitresses spoke English. My opinion is do it just... More

The very best thing about this restaurant is the fact that it floats like a massive house boat in the middle of Aberdeen harbour and can only be accessed by boat (a free service is run by the restaurant). Cool! There is more than one place to eat within Jumbo (the top floor is Western food?), but we ate at... More

We jumped on the free ferry from Aberdeen Harbour to have a look round this must see tourist site. The place was packed out so they must be doing something right. It was interesting to see all the fish and sea creatures in the tanks next to the kitchen. That is about as fresh as you can get. Fabulous!

It is merely the experience: to be transported on a sampan to this huge floating restaurant, then to have a reasonable Chinese dinner and the boat back. The food is OK, and served swiftly. The winelist however is impressive. All major Medoc and St Emilion grand crus are there at not completely unreasonable prices. And thus you can top off... More

The Dragon Court of the Jumbo Kingdom is a premier dining area of this noted floating restaurant in the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter off Hong Kong Island. It specializes in contemporary Cantonese Cuisine which, by definition, is heavily oriented to seafood. To get there from Kowloon means riding the Star Ferry across the harbour followed by a public bus or taxi... More

Although the appearance of the restaurant is quite impressive, the food is average at best. The waiters are efficient but impersonal and, strangely for a tourist attraction, maybe half can communicate in English. If you're after a slightly different experience like the boat ride over (5 minutes) and the elegant interiors, I would recommend you do it but bear in... More

Jumbo is the biggest floating restaurant in the world. It´s half an hour trip from Hong Kong City (and 280 HK dollars), and when you arrive you have to take a small boat from land to the restaurant. The building is amazing, typical Chinese decoration and really big. There are a lot of waiters, and they are very good in... More

This sounded like an interesting place to visit for food. It looked quite promising as we got picked up at the pier in a boat to get taken to the restaurant. The decor is very nice and it looked quite grand. However this soon changed once we got inside the restaurant. The customer service was non existent and the food... More
