Our local guide told us that she goes to this restaurant when she wants a good curry! She took us there during the day to familiarise us with the Chungking Mansion which can be very intimidating and daunting given that it is a melting pot for just about every culture and race on the planet in a very cramped and... I have been coming to Chungking Mansions for Indian food since I was at school in Hong Kong in the early 1990’s – and the Taj Mahal Club is normally the preferred choice. Sure it has changed over the years and on a couple of occasions I have been tempted to try other spots. However, on our most recent visit... More

They say the best way to bond and get to know people is to eat in a communal way. Indian food is just that. Poppadoms, a few starters to share and a number of dishes to dig into with rice and garlic nan is a real pleasure and you can probably do that at many an Indian restaurant. Taj Mahal... More

For us, this is a gastro trip. So we try out places reputed to be great for food, whatever the price. Taj Mahal Club has an ambience consistent with its location- we like our eateries to be clean, but we promise not to complain of substandard cleanliness if the food is great. It wasn't. The only good thing they do... More

I'm actually from Australia, and I recently went to Hong Kong on a leisure trip, and happened to stay very near this place. I have to say I was very impressed by the food at the restaurant, I have tried indian restaurants in Australia but this was simply delicious. I tried the Lamb Roganjosh which was suggested to us by... More

We went to this restaurant becos of the visitors' reviews. We went there at about 18:00pm on Sept 01, 2013. It was not difficult to find it when you ask the security. The service person at the entrance won't produce you the 10% discount card if you don't ask for it. Then with someone's guide, we went to the lift.... More

No problems finding it but took lift on arrival and stairs on leaving - better way to do it for sure ! No frills but clean anyway. Prompt service - no hanging around. early in evening at 7.30 so not busy. Simple Indian food but very good quality. Hot when served and generous portions too.Drinks were cold beers. No complaints... I have read the reviews above and agree completely with their statements about the quality of the taste. I generally don't like Indian food, but a friend of mine highly recommended "Taj Mahal Club". Additionally, I was staying at a hostel above the restaurant, so I thought, "oh, what the heck?" I went a few minutes before dinner service and... More

This has to be the most difficult review I have yet penned. It was suggested to me that the Taj Mahal Club in Chungking Mansions was the best Indian Restaurant in Hong Kong.....Chungking Mansions! Chungking Mansions has or had a terrible reputation for a while as a haven for people and drug trafficking and still has an air of dis-respectibility.... More

The Chungking "Mansion" is easy to find, but the Club in the Mansion was a different issue. Two elevators service the two blocks of the building. Don't take the first elevator on the left, wait until you see the big neon sign the says "Taj Mahal Club." Made me feel like an idiot. If you go after 6pm, you might... More
