Good food in the heart of Chungking

Great place to go for a curry and a few beers with your friends. Definitely recommend it for any tourists who want to visit Chungking Mansions. It's tricky to find at first but there is a security officer on the ground floor who'll direct you. Pick up a business card at the entrance & you can get... read more

We ordered set dinner for two. Food was lovely although I'm sure they made the curries mild. I like mine spicy . When entering Chung King we were approached by annoying restaurant touts. I almost walked away due to their pushy behaviour. (the TAj Mahal needs to address this as it's extremely off putting. Very nice chicken tikka although the... More

A must restaurant visit on all our visits to Hong Kong. Chung King Mansions on Nathan road can scare some off , do make the effort to visit this restaurant on the 3rd floor The long term owners and staff of this restaurant are eager to please and the food is tops The black lentils were so creamy , the... The Chungking complex is a very "interesting" place if you don't mind the hustle and bustle and the very dirty staircases. The positive thing is that as soon as you step in to the Taj Mahal Club restaurant (after taking the right hand elevator in section 'B' to the third floor) you feel like you have entered a new world.... My dad read some great reviews about this restaurant so for our first night in Hong Kong we decided to give it a try. The drinks took a really long time, but we weren't too fussed because the entree's were tasty! Finally our mains came out and they were delicious! But here is the kicker... My husband was dipping his... More

I really love this place. As someone else mentioned if you wander around the lobby of Chungking mansions you can find the guy who'll give you the 10% discount card. There are plenty of other restaurants in CK mansions too, but this is the one you want. I'm pretty sure this is the same place i went to a couple... More

Our local guide told us that she goes to this restaurant when she wants a good curry! She took us there during the day to familiarise us with the Chungking Mansion which can be very intimidating and daunting given that it is a melting pot for just about every culture and race on the planet in a very cramped and... I have been coming to Chungking Mansions for Indian food since I was at school in Hong Kong in the early 1990’s – and the Taj Mahal Club is normally the preferred choice. Sure it has changed over the years and on a couple of occasions I have been tempted to try other spots. However, on our most recent visit... More

They say the best way to bond and get to know people is to eat in a communal way. Indian food is just that. Poppadoms, a few starters to share and a number of dishes to dig into with rice and garlic nan is a real pleasure and you can probably do that at many an Indian restaurant. Taj Mahal... More
