... the food is yummy, the service is friendly, and the beer is Tsingtao !! I have been a couple of times. There are no windows to gaze out of but round tables to sit around with friends and order very nice food, to chat, and pass the time. I am sure there are better restaurants that offer nicer decor... We were referred by our hotel, Grand Hyatt, who probably gets a commission as they even gave us the restaurant's business card for the reference. It's in a dingy part of town. The restaurant is small- Prob 15 tables max- and no windows. Kitchen looked dirty. Waiters were handling silver wear by holding the parts that patrons will be eating... More

We were a big table mixing HK locals with expat travellers passing through for a farewell dinner. Food was excellent and well served with special mention for the roast duck served with both pancakes and chopped in lettuce, the fried garoupa and chilli prawns. The hot and sour soup is a great way to kick off the meal, by the... More

My husband and I love spicy food so on our first visit to Hong Kong 20+ years ago he took me to the Red Pepper as it was one of his favourite restaurants in HK. We come back on every visit to HK (three times in 2013). If you like spicy food with loads of flavour then you will love... More

We read good things and gave it a try. Four sons between 20 and 9 years old in the party of 6. Every dish was wonderful from the sizzling prawns(reputation well deserved) to the more adventurous beef tongue and tripe. Side dishes like bamboo shoot and mushrooms and beautifully done choy sum and great noodle soup with shredded pork and... More

I keep on trying this place, have been doing so for over 30 years! Will make up my mind soon as to what is the best dish! Never been let down, always greeted with a huge smile and delicious food, the prawns need to be tried to be believed, the chilli aromas hit home when it is busy! Very very... More

Our group of seven was very well served. Sizzling prawns, driend beef and spicey fish were excelent and nicely presented. This si a pleasand spot for a group meal and a manageable walk of about 15min from the congress centre. We will be coming again!

In years gone by the Red Pepper was a family favourite. When we visited recently the guests were all foreigners and the food very average and on the expensive side for Hong Kong. Service was good and well accustomed to inexperienced Chinese food eaters. However if you want an authentic SzeChuan experience, you need to look elsewhere.

A friend of ours who works for BA cabin crew recommended this restaurant. Having eaten at One Harbour Road (Hyatt) the night before, we both felt that the food was better at the Red Pepper and half the price. The service was faultless and we didnt feel rushed as we did at the Hyatt. We had fhe sizzling prawns, the... More

Different Sichuan to the kind you get in New York, has some dishes that are more like Indo-Chinese. I think it caters to tourists quite a bit and shows in some of the service from the staff. But still a must visit when I go to Hong Kong. Delicious greasy food.
