Excellent food

We found this place from an advert in our hotel. We were so pleased with the food. The portions were huge, we ordered duck with pancakes, beef chilli & garlic, sweet & sour chicken, chicken fried rice and couple of beers. We were stuffed and couldnt finish it :( the bill came to HKD 815.50 which we... read more

We stumbled on The Red Pepper when looking for something else and were pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for something authentic that looks like a traditional old-style Chinese restaurant, The Red Pepper is it. They have delicious pepper cashew chicken, the best fried green beans with ground pork in all of Hong Kong (and that says something) and the... More

Have tried their set lunch twice which was not too bad but I won't say it was top-notch food. The price is on the high side and I would not say it is genuine Chinese food either

This is a well-established restaurant in the heart of Causeway Bay. Excellent choice of Szechuan food. 2 of us started with one serve of Peking Duck pancakes which were delicious and could have been enough for a meal on their own unless one is very hungry. As it was we had ordered Kumquat dried beef and a veg dish and... More

This restaurant is an institution in Causeway Bay and has been here for a fair number of decades. I can't say if the food honors true Szechuan style but it is very spicy, incredibly tasty and suits a western palette. I have lived in Hong Kong for 10 years and aftet my frequent visits they know me by sight ..... More

While shopping at Causeway Bay, we chose this restaurant based on recommendations by Trip Advisor members. Did NOT disappoint. The decor is nice, the service prompt and the food spectacular. We ordered the fried squid with pepper and cashew nuts, the ox tongue and tripe in chili sauce, and the fried shrimp with hot garlic sauce. All were very fresh,... More

This used to be a regular family favourite when we lived in Hong Kong in the 1980's and is still as good as ever.We have revisited on a few occasions within recent years and always look forward to returning. The food and service are both excellent.

I learned about this place from the Hong Kong Guide app. It wasn't far from my hotel (Mini Hotel Causeway Bay), so I headed over for lunch before my tour. It's on the same street as the back entrance of Lee Garden shopping center. If you're walking fast you may miss it. The decor inside is reminiscent of Chinese tradition... More

Great Restaurant, Great Food, Excellent service. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth a visit, traditional style Chinese restaurant with Chilli as their theme. very nice atmosphere with large portions even on the small plate menu. The food was very nice and every morsel could be eaten.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
