The Red Pepper, Hong Kong, is a must for all of you that enjoy spicy Cantonese food. Booking is a must but you will not be disappointed. We have been there several times and it had never failed to impress, no dish is a stand out - they are all supreme. Staff are friendly, attentive and smiling

We stumbled on this place on our last night in HK. It isn't even completely obvious that its a restaurant from the street. We poked our head round the door and saw that it was full of diners, mostly Chinese business men by the looks of it. We asked for a table and were asked to return in half an... More

The food here is delicious to say the least, especially the sizzling prawns. However most dishes here come with a significant amount of spice. Depending on your tolerance to it, be sure you're prepared later on. Someone like me, who does not react well to spicy food, did spend a good amount of time on the kings throne once at... More

Wanted to give this 5 stars but when bill came we had been heavily overcharged. We were a table of 11, with two fluent Cantonese speakers and this didn't deter them from overcharging. When challenged they did take correct the bill but that was very disappointing.

The Red Pepper is a longtime Causeway Bay favorite and their Sizzling Sichuan Prawns are excellent and not to be missed. The place is very popular with the foreign crowd. The eggplant in hot garlic sauce is another favorite. Always extremely crowded on the Sevens weekend, so book well in advance. The place is a must visit! And not to... More

Especially, chilly shrimp is so good. But I think they're little expensive.

I enjoyed a lovely sichuan meal unfortunately on able to taste 4 dishes between the 2 of us. Starting with a hot soup, chicken with cashes and peppers, beef with black bean sauce, finishing with toffied bananas finished at the table. Each dish had the right balance of spice and heat and was quite large. The meat dishes had good... More

Not travelling to HK as much as before. A visit last month again showed this spicy refuge to be a standing favourite. The Sizzling Sichuan Prawns are almost a signature dish here, but look beyond and fins Sour and Pepper Soup, Fried Squid with hot garlic sauce, Boied Spicy Sliced Beef and the Fried Garoupa, which by itself merits an... Excellent food. You can order small or medium helpings but the medium size are enormous and too much for 2 people. Stick with small. Very helpful staff.

We had dinner here as a large group which allowed us to order several dishes. The Peking duck was excellent and carved table side. Almost every table in the place orders spicy sizzling shrimp. When the dish is put on hot plate the red pepper aroma fills the restaurant which gives the air a noticeable edge. We also had the... More
