Excellent Szechuan food.

While shopping at Causeway Bay, we chose this restaurant based on recommendations by Trip Advisor members. Did NOT disappoint. The decor is nice, the service prompt and the food spectacular. This used to be a regular family favourite when we lived in Hong Kong in the 1980's and is still as good as ever.We have revisited on a few occasions within recent years and always look forward to returning. The food and service are both excellent.

I learned about this place from the Hong Kong Guide app. It wasn't far from my hotel (Mini Hotel Causeway Bay), so I headed over for lunch before my tour. It's on the same street as the back entrance of Lee Garden shopping center. If you're walking fast you may miss it. The decor inside is reminiscent of Chinese tradition... More

Great Restaurant, Great Food, Excellent service. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth a visit, traditional style Chinese restaurant with Chilli as their theme. very nice atmosphere with large portions even on the small plate menu. The food was very nice and every morsel could be eaten.

The food is actually quite nice but highly overpriced. Our rather small dinner for two racked up over 100 USD quite easily. The staff weren't very welcoming unlike the many other restaurants and cafes we went to all across Hong Kong.

My husband and I were taken to the Red Pepper during our stay in Hong Kong for a taste of Sichuan cuisine. It was really delicious and plentiful, but I doubt that this is the most authentic Sichuan cuisine in Hong Kong. Nevertheless, the food was pleasing and I am glad that we had a dinner here. I recommend the... More

I hadn't been to The Red Pepper for about 9 months, only because we live in a different area of Hong Kong. But we had friends from the UK staying, who wanted to go to Causeway Bay, so we used the opportunity to stop by Red Pepper. We ordered a chicken, beef and prawn dish all were delicious and good... Place in the average. Food nice but it seems too touristic. I loved the sweet/sour chicken and the Jasmin tea they're serving all the dinner long.

Happened upon this place and went in without finding or checking prices. Rather more expensive than we usually pay in HK where we are frequent visitors. But the award certificates on the wall persuaded us to stay. Helpful service and the nibbles (pickled cucumber, roasted peanuts and kimchee) we're very nice. Deliberately ordered restaurant standards to test them out -... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
