Good Meal

This is good food in an authentic atmosphere! We dined with a couple who live in Hong Kong and this is one of their favorite places.

Unfortunately the restaurant was empty when we had lunch at 2pm, so no atmosphere which always helps. The food was good and we had Peking duck and chilli prawns, in fact we ordered so much we had to take some away. This is traditional Cantonese rather than fine dining and I would certainly go again.

Very expensive. Food decent and spicey but very superficial, oh another tourist interaction. No local clientelle which is always an indicator.

Nice place, good location and a wide menu selection. Traditional items with plenty of spice and a few westernised dishes for the foreigners. Service was prompt and courteous but I felt sometimes mechanical. Otherwise a great meal and worth the visit.

The red pepper has been serving fantastic chilli prawns for many years and it's still as good as ever. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Enjoy the chilli prawns / beans with pork and chilli beef with sesame pockets as all are a winner. This is a great Hong Kong institution and one not... More

We went here for dinner, based on TripAdvisor reviews. The menu was extensive, and we chose pork and beef dishes, as well as fried rice. Portions are large - be sure to specify the small size or else you'll automatically get the large size. We left most of the food - it was of average quality and very greasy. The... More

We love the Red Pepper. The food is delicious and the athmosphere warm. Staff are steady over years so is service. I truely hope to see the restaurant on this place next time we come, since reconstruction is taking place all around. Try Dan Dan Noodles and smoked duck !!

Enjoyed a flavorful dinner here. The portions are very big (and there are 2 size options) so choose the smaller option unless you are with a large crowd.

I have nothing to compare this restaurant to as we only stayed 1 night in HK and ate here on the recommendation of a resident. It's situated in a bustling little side road. The food was delicious and the service good. We had the sizzling prawns that were a very good size (medium portion), the Peking duck pancakes and the... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
