Housed in old "Tong Lau" style shophouses dating back to 1888 and serving as a staple of Wan Chai dining & nightlife for 6 great years, The Pawn prides itself in retaining heritage value in an eclectic setting. invited friends telling them about the new revamped Pawn, lunch became a disaster service wise Food was uninspiring and served cold Manager had a condescending attitude when we voiced our dissatisfaction. Bar on 1st floor is a much better bet, stick to that, stay away form the restaurant

Table of 4. Service really a big problem. Orders served in wrong order. Main arrived before starter. Long wait for mains. Some served had to wait

I've been to pawn a few times prior to renovation, I enjoyed it. This time I was being treated by some friends visiting from uk who were very keen to dine there as a uk celeb chef happened to be there for a couple of nights, it seems that he is involved in ownership in some way now, at least... I have seen a few bad reviews relating to this venue and its food but we went for just a few drinks and it was a lovely place to catch up and chat with the Hong kong life going on behind you and it is one of the few remianing colonial buildings left (real loss of some great buildings sadly)... This was my first time to The Pawn. I had heard good things about its reincarnation with celebrity chef Tom Aikens overseeing the kitchen. So when it was announced he would be cooking tonight, I thought this would be a good time to try the place out. My friends, who had been to the revamped restaurant already, had liked the... More

We had a lovely brunch here on the patio. The staff was impeccable! The food above average! I can't wait until I have an excuse to return!

Of all the things I would recommend for visitors to Hong Kong The Pawn would be a top 20 but not a top 5. And thats just it... It has potential but it needs to go the extra mile to really hit the top 10 list. This is no fault of the food, so far its excellent. With Tom Aiken's... More

We read about this place as a former pawn shop from the 1800s and randomly came across it. We had already eaten but had to pop in for a drink! It was quite quiet at 4pm on Sunday afternoon but we were greeted by a friendly girl who offered us a seat outside. Not the cheapest wine list but we... More

My family and I tried lunch at The Pawn on a Saturday. Putting aside whether the decor is better or worse than the old Pawn, the service and food were completely inept as if the place is being run by amateurs. Among other highlights: -- One member of our party ordered a juice and one order a coffee. The coffee... More
