Went along on a Thursday night with a friend. I like the new decor in the restaurant. The open kitchen looks great, the seats are comfortable, the tables are well spaced. The service is interesting... they try very very hard... too hard. I felt harried. "Are you ready to order?"... "do you want this?"... "how about this?"... constantly at the... More

We were recommended this restaurant and thought it was going to be Chinese food. It was more contemporary food and it was reasonably expensive. I had the fish pie which was very tasty with seafood covered in mash potato. Had a great fennel flavour and was very filling. The restaurant sits on the 2nd floor of the building, with a... More

A little oasis in the heart of Wan Chai of well cooked and tasty food with good non alcoholic cocktail menus, & then also good bar snacks and wine lists etc. Restaurant felt quality with interesting furniture, and the terrace was nice too. We didn't see it before the refit everyone else mentions, and so just had a lovely time... More

I haven't eaten since returning to HK but came twice for drinks. Service is just off. Drinks are extremely expensive. The new fit out doesn't quite work. Mens toilets smell bad. Its just a few degrees away from being right on all the major points. I also had a look through the menu last time and noticed they charge 50... More

I think this place had a better feel and more soul before it was renovated. I am a big fan of the moonzen beers that are there (which are exclusive to the Pawn) but the place is a bit expensive for what it is overall. There are plenty of better places to go in the area.

I think you pay first of all the location, then the food or better the food presentation. It's a very fine restaurant but not in my chords.

My friend & I went for the lunch menu - it's definitely on the upper-end for lunch. I forgot what the dishes were called, but the starter was delicious and had little bursts of lemon and crispiness. It also LOOKED fabulous. Definitely a very interesting dish. The main we had was fish, and that was overdone, on the dry side,... More

I have been to this place a few times now and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Located in a lovely old colonial style building. The only down side is it is a bit pricey, but I would definitely go back.

We had wonderful night, my starter was Tuna Tartar, cant find like this best compare to others, my friend had Seabass Carpaccio, both are excellent dishes, fresh, light and let us want more. We shared USDA sirloin steak, juicy, tender, with 2 sides fine beans and house salad are perfectable balance. We decided will be back again as service, food... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
