Dim Sum Carts

Haven't seen one of these in quite a while. This was my first dim sum experience in HK, food quality was pretty good. Everything freshly cooked and very tasty. They also have a wide variety of dishes available. The place is quite friendly towards non-chinese speakers since you can pretty much see... read more

I was invited to a gourmet dinner at this restaurant in Admiralty, Hong Kong. The location is pretty convenient, right above the Admiralty MTR station. The food was good, but the utensils were dirty and the service was poor. The dedicated table server (waitress), in particular, was exceptionally bad. She kept touching and pushing customers with her body in one... More

Had a catch up with old friends here today. Loved the food. Was with Chinese friends, so they ordered and that always makes everything easier! Good food and good value. A bit of a cavern of a place, very busy, but almost every table either locals or mixed local / expat, so a good sign about the food. My friend's... More

This restaurant had the standard dim sum fare. Everything was pretty good. They still have cart service which I think I great. The prices were good. We ate our fill with a very small check. The service could use some improvement as the server just walked away from us mid discussion. The mediocre service is tolerable as the food makes... More

We were recommended by a friend who lives in Hong Kong to try out Metropole Restaurant for their dim sum since this is where the 'locals' frequent. The food is served by ladies in push carts which I like ( they don't speak any English, so just point to what you like and they will dish it up for you).... More

This is our go to Dim Sum restaurant. It has everything you would expect and served by a combination of carts and a cooking station in the center of the restaurant that cook plates fresh in front of you. Unlike other popular dim sum restaurants it's unlikely you will have hour-long waits for a table here but reservations for peak... More

The Metropol at United Centre is a huge (seats 1300) restaurant that is well known for its dim sum. We went there early on a Saturday (just before noon) and there were no lines to be seated. The dim sum was excellent – we had the usual favorites including siu mai and har gao and they were really good. Ladies... More

Enjoyed the food. Convenient location in Pacific Place mall. Try the steamed beef balls. The restaurant was packed. Luckily we made a reservation for dim sum. Asked the server to help us take a picture and he responded that he was too busy.

If you want dim sum on weekends and don't want to queue and can't be bothered to book then Metropol is a great choice. There is plenty of food to choose from on the carts, and also from the food station in the restaurant. There's a good choice of dumplings, vegetable fried and steamed to choose from. The desert trolley... More

A very traditional dim sum place with the servers pushing dim sum carts. So expect it to be crowded and noisy. Make reservations because it easily gets full. It opens at 11am so plan your morning. We tried all sorts of dim sum, the difficult part was that servers did not speak english so if you wanted to know if... More
