Excellent selection of appetizers... The rissotto balls were the best, bruschetta was yummy as well... Got crowded really fast. Best location, Right next to the escalator! Too bad its closed now 😓

Unfortunately and very sadly, Bacar (and the neighboring Cicada) closed on November 26, 2013, to make space for another sky scraper, we were unbelievably lucky to eat our last meal there on 11/24, not knowing that it was closing the next day - we will very much miss this long standing bijou, the great food, ambience and sweet staff!

Hidden part way up the Central escalator was introduced by a local friend. Seemed to be packed and reservations required even at 6.30pm on a Wednesday night. Seated upstairs on the mezzanine floor, be warned of the ceiling aircon which seems to blow straight down your collar and cools your food. Nice variety of small sharing dishes, but nothing outstanding... More

Stepped of at Shelley street and into this delightful tapas bar. Great small plates to share, good range of draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits. Obviously well known by locals and visitors, as they were already booked out for 2 sittings for dinner that evening (Friday of Golden Week), and having to turn custom away by3 pm while we... More

We stumbled across this place last Monday night. Despite being busy they managed to find us a table for 2 (upstairs). We just wanted a snack so we ordered their Sun/Mon night special which was a pitcher of your choice of cocktail plus a pizza for $150 HK. Both were absolutely perfect and this was such a good deal. The... More

We went here last night (Friday) after a 12 hour flight from London and hadn't booked. It is usually quite busy but the lovely Pilipino ladies that work here were accommodating as usual and found us a spot at the bar. Great meze-style food or pizzas with a good selection of cocktails. Overall a great place to meet friends and... More

This is one of my favourite places in Central. A friend introduced me to it about a year and a half ago, and we have been frequenting it ever since. Great breakfast, but my favourite has to be the tapas. The risotto and arancini are just superb-- I order one or both of these every time. Zucchini and feta fritters... More

A Tuesday evening supper with my daughter and a group of her friends. I have been here before when visiting Hong Kong and as previously found it to be lively and noisy but not overtly so, it is part of the atmosphere. A selection of shared dishes were all very tasty, everyone seems to have their particular favourites. Well worth... More

Not the place for a quiet, romantic Thursday night (or most other nights), but perfect for a group kickstarting an evening over some good wine and an unending stream of moreish tapas. For the number of people in and out, service is remarkably good: as well as bottles of South African estate Warwick's Three Cape Ladies (great blend) and many... More

I was in a party of five who went to this establishment. I have to say it was very busy, but I guess that is par for the course on a friday night. Lucily though we had booked a table. We were led immediately which was upstairs. The waitress was attentive and the food prompt and good. The menu had... More
