This restaurant is walking distance from the 798 Art Zone. Service staff was very helpful in helping us with the food order since we were not familiar with the local cuisine, although it would be difficult if one can't speak Mandarin. Choice was extensive and we thought prices were reasonable given the overall dining ambience, food quality and service.

This was on our list of recommended places so thought we would try it out. No-one seemed to know where it was although it was very close to our hotel (Peace Hotel). There is no English version of the name shown outside but it is set back some 50-80 feet through a wide entrance and some staff were standing by... More

We ended up going here twice during our 6 day stay in Beijing. It's close to Yong'Anli station on line 1 (~5 minute walk to it). Food is great and reasonably priced. Very little English is spoken but menu does have English translations. Good value! Will cost you about 200-300 yuan for ~3-4 dishes and 2 drinks for a dinner... More

After a great walk through the art district i was brought to this rest. for business dinner. Delicious food with a little westernized way of presentation - less bones left in. I'll recommend the place and vome back.

The menu was extensive. Lots of choices to make. Food was tasty and different from typical Chinese food I had before. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Style of cooking is unique. Not many restaurants cook this way, unlike Cantonese or Sichuan. Not only is the food tasty, they are visually appealing. The ambience is cozy and welcoming. The lively hutong interior contrasts with its stark wooden door and gray wall exterior. Hard to locate as others have reviewed. From the Silk Street market or Yonganli subway... More

We did a 3 weeks roundtrip in China in August and Najia Xiaoguan restaurant was definitely one of the best picks we had during that time. Due to the positive reviews on trip advisor we took a taxi on the first evening we arrived in Beijing. The restaurant was not that easy to find (at least for the taxi driver... More

I was brought to this restaurant by a local friend. Truly amazing food. The lamb cheek dish is superb, the Kungpao chicken is the best I've ever had, and the peking duck just taste to perfection. We ordered Chinese white wine and it tastes divine. Great ambience in a highly recommended place.

Actually, this is a review of the Najia by the North Gate of Art 798 district. I've eaten here several times, and it's one of my "go-to" restaurants for visiting friends. The food is Imperial Cuisine and offers a good variety. My sister was in heaven when we ate here. The decor is lovely, the atmosphere quiet, and the gardens... More

They're not the usual Chinese food I had all along. So it's a breath of fresh air. A website claimed it's Manchu Imperial cuisine, not too sure how authentic it is. But it does give me a feel it's from the Manchu/Mongol side. Worth a try! Food is pretty good.
