I was a bit skeptical when my wife told me that her relatives were hosting a spring festival dinner at a German restaurant in Beijing. I grew up in a part of Canada with many German immigrants and have eaten a lot of German food, including some in Berlin and Munich. I expected a pale imitation of the real thing.... more
