Great Duck. Snobby Service

Ignore the cold, inattentive service if you want really good Peking Duck. We were made to wait over 30 minutes even though there was a whole side room with empty tables - maybe they just wanted to hint that we should make a reservation the next time. I have had Peking Duck many times in Beijing... read more

I was really excited to try Peking duck, and I had heard that Dadong was the best. However, I was unable to try it out for myself as the service was horrible. I went in one night to have dinner and was turned away because it was too busy. As it was New Years Eve that was okay with me.... More

It's too expensive and too overrated! There are many other Peking Duck restaurants that are better and cheaper. You should go only if you want to tell others that you've been there.

You get to sit at the bar and drink cold beer, whilst you wait for a table, and experience the magic of the Chefs preparing the duck with the ancient knowledge passed down though the generations. The end result is absolutely mouth watering, the accompanying vegetables were almost as exquisite! You cannot visit Beijing, without visiting this restaurant! You will... More

We had a great dinner here in July. We came specifically for the duck, which was exquisite, and the presentation was just as worthwhile! We also tried many other dishes, the dumplings were delicious, so was the fried pork, and the noodles. For dessert we had the caramel fruit, which was cooked and prepared in front of us (like the... As expected, the Peking Duck was incredible. The other dishes were outstanding. Went to the restaurant during a layover in Beijing. Was the best decision I could have made. Well worth the trip. A must try if you are in Beijing and appreciate great food!!

There is a photo of Ferran Adria of El Bulli fame, on the wall at the reception of this famous Peking duck restaurant, and you know there is a reason for that - amazing food! We heard one of the main chefs studied under a one Michelin star chef, and came back to man the kitchen. Well, you will see... More

The pros : very good and tasty food, good variety of dishes besides the traditional duck. Nice contemporary service. Efficient service The cons : can't comment about the prices since we were invited.
