This was a delicious dinner! It wasn't cheap but it was very very good! My food experiences are mainly from Melbourne and Hong Kong so I can't comment on how expensive it was or wasn't. For my mum and I it came to around 1200HKD which I would expect to pay for a similar experience in HK and Australia so... More

This is one of the most memorable meals I've had - anywhere in the world. King's Joy serves gourmet vegetarian food in a sophisticated, modern but utterly Chinese setting. None of our party of five were vegetarians, and I could see my guests' hearts sink slightly when I said we were going to a vegetarian restaurant for dinner - however... More

The setting is stunning but the positives for me ended there. Poor communication by the waiter meant we were led to believe that we were only allowed to order one of the set menus which were not particularly appealing. There were occasional plus points with the flavours of the dishes but overall the food was very bland and lacking in... More

The restaurant is a beauty both in décor and the food. All the dishes were exceptional. I loved the miso soup, spicy fried tofu, mapo tofu and the monkey's head mushrooms. The juices/drinks too are unique. Book in advance.

We ate here on our first night in Beijing and thought the entire dining experience was awesome. The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very nice, attentive and even talked to us after our meal about our visit to Beijing. There was a woman playing a harp while we dinned that added an extra cool touch to the already... My boyfriend took me here for a birthday meal, and it was a perfect choice. We chose a set meal (I believe 499 per person). The soup was a bit bland for me, but every other course was delicious and unique. The atmosphere was tasteful and the service was the best I've had in Beijing. I thought ordering on an... More

I'm somewhat joking. it is a very nice vegan restaurant. but it is a little overpriced. First off, take a cab because you have to pay for parking....IF it's available. it's right across the street from a lama temple (can't remember the name). Lots of "master" monks or lamas dine there and their names are on the outside wall like... More

there's no reason veggie food should be this expensive. yes, it's delicious and the quality is good. but why does it cost about 200 to 300 rmb more than every other high calibur restaurant in Beijing? it would only deserve a higher rating if their prices came down to where they belong. Go elsewhere.

The restaurant is worth trying, particularly for vegetarians. Spectacular location and interior decoration. Sohisticated service and presentation of the dishes. Food was good but not impressive. The bill was unreasonably high, at 700 RMB per person (wine included).

Impressive atmosphere, satisfying and delicious food, menu for miles, a fun experience altogether! Wish their drinks and some of their normal-sounding dishes weren't so extravagantly priced, but what can you do?! We love their Kung Pao Tofu, the San Bei Mushrooms, and the Basil Eggplant the most, as well as the whole feel of the place. The smell is a... More
