TRB serves contemporary European cuisine and is committed to providing the highest levels of hospitality for our guests. In creating our dining space, the Australian architectural and design firm Hassell emphasized the clean, light filled and thoroughly modern lines of what was once a television factory producing the capital's first black and white TVs. The history of the TRB compound spans 600 years: it includes ancient halls of worship, factories constructed after the Communist takeover and slogans left over from the Cultural Revolution. Renovation began in 2008, focussed on preserving all the layers of history and keeping as much as possible of the original structures.

TRB is located in a traditional Beijing hutong area, yet it is designed with sophisticated elegance, sympathetic to its context with (sometimes enjoyably kitsch) historical references. The food is excellent -- and the staff probably the best in China! Immaculately presented, attentive, friendly and supremely competent. Not my first visit to this first class restaurant, but always great and never lacking in service, detail, food quality and overall experience. Arrived at 13.00 for our booking, very quickly and elegantly led to our table. Nice sized table without being squeezed to close to other tables. A nice glass of Champagne to start. Very promptly provided with warm... More

I was asking around me what is their favorite restaurant in Beijing, and most answers were TRB. I am living in Beijing for 8 years and been several times in that nice place. Tonight was the 30th birthday of my friend, and I really wanted to treat him well. I decided to go to TRB. The service is exellent, we... More

I recently had Sunday brunch at TRB for my birthday. It was very affordable. RMB 298 for 5 courses & RMB 368 for 8 courses. The menu was setup so that you can order any combination of courses as long as it came out to the same number. The portions are small, but we got 5 and 8 courses for... More

We visited here for Friday night dinner on a business trip. The place was booked solid and we were lucky to get a table for 2045. The neighborhood seemed a bit seedy but we were greeted by two reception people upon stepping out of the taxi. While there was a bit of a wait (7 minutes) they go out of... More

My girlfriend in Beijing suggested that we dine at Temple Restaurant, a renovated 600 year old Buddhist Temple in a downtown hutong. The decor, service and food were elegant and the waiter arranged a driver to return us to our hotel. Each course was served with a glass of champagne or wine and the setting was superb. I admit that... More

Bright, spacious and modern-designed restaurant. Staff take considerable effort to make new guests welcome. Wonderful dishes and amuses keep arriving at the table, beautifully presented, as do various members of the staff and the owner. Lunch menu is an excellent bargain, given the quality. I'd recommend it to anyone wishing a high quality, European-style meal in Beijing in a lovely... More

There's simply no better way to describe it. It's like watching an orchestra perform. It's impressive how the team works so well together. And all non-verbally. They just know. There's always someone close. Not in an obtrusive way. It's more comforting. The design of the restaurant is brilliant and layout is open making the ambiance so enjoyable. The staff is... More

Had a brilliant lunch at TRB today. It's easy to see why it's (still) Beijing's leading restaurant. Thanks to its history, it's a wonderful venue to take visitors to, if you're celebrating something, or simply because you can.

I can count on one had the number of restaurants or hotels that offer the level of service and quality of food the way that TRB handles it. TRB is a rarity. Exquisite ambience.
