If you have the time in Bejing go along to Mr Shi it is just a dream of a place, up one of the hutongs opposite the noodle shop, but when you get your head around the vast menu the place is a dream. There is a steady stream of take away deliveries but this is just a part of... More

One of my friends chose this place based on online reviews, The menu is a bit confusing, but the gist of the combos is you can order 12 dumplings, 6 each of 2 types of cheese-and-meat-filled for 85 yuan; or 5 each of 3 types of various non-cheese dumplings for 55 yuan (that's what I was able to gather anyway... in this lovely and lively Hutong they have 2 addresses one facing the other. One for dumplings, one for noodles. Very affordable meals. Everything cooked in front of you and extra fresh.

great dumplings, a must try! Our son (13yo) record was 17 in one day. We ate here a number of times, sometimes as a pre dinenr snack

Located just across from the Orchid hotel. We had a few meals here during our stay and the taste, service were always excellent. The special dumplings are heaven, green beans with chilli are divine....WOW WOW WOW....

We happened to stumble across this restaurant while wandering through a very lovely hutang, and we were so happy we did! The atmosphere was so lovely, with spacious tables and very eclectic decor. The dumplings were incredible! there were countless options (almost to many to choose from), we settled on the tasting platter, and were blown away. Hands down the... More

Going to a to hyped trip advisor favorite isn't easy, but Mr Shi's did not only meet my expectations but exceeded them. Excellent dumplings for almost nothing, and the surrounding hip street was for free as well.

This place is really, really good! If you like steamed or fried dumplings (饺子), you should give this place a try. It's kind of a little hole in the wall, which makes it all the better! We were kind of overwhelmed by the sheer amount of different types of dumplings, they even had dessert dumplings with chocolate, bananas, strawberry, etc.... More

I may be ruined for dumplings back in the States. Mr. Shi's (I'm told pronounced Shur) had both fried and steamed dumplings. I suggest getting both types. The flavors were amazing. One of the sauces was a bit hot (Red Pepper hot), so chose wisely if your not a fan. Very casual and very small. Mr. Shi's Dumplings 74 Baochao... More

Teriffic dumplings in the hutong. We stuck with the traditional dumplings (pork filling, vegetable filling, etc.) and tried steamed and fried, both of which were excellent. The best dumplings we had in China.
