Service was okay; the Indian manager speaks English. The curry and nan were good. The soup was disappointing. The merlot was okay. Total price for one: about 100 rmb.
As a British expat finding a good Indian in Beijing is mission impossible however the Ganges near the Metro Park Lido Hotel is very good indeed. Instead of Chicken Tikka Massala ask for Butter Chicken as this is more like the british chicken tikka masala. I know that sounds strange but \china is strange fullstop

But from last several months the problem has been sorted out as we are getting wonderful lunch delivery to our office from Ganges CBD. Visited the restaurant in CBD in Chaoyang for a full week. The buffet lunch was fantastic. Ambience was good and the staff were cordial and helpful. The masala chai was invigorating. Would love to try their South Indian dishes next time. Thumbs up for these guys.

The waitstaff were cordial, though the manager found a way to frown at us each of the approximately 30 times he walked past our table without saying hello or asking whether we were satisfied. But the food wasn't bad, even if it was greatly... More
Visited 2 of their outlets in Beijing, they have 5 in total. Both their outlets the food was good. Very Indian touch can be seen in their decor. The food is good & so is their service. Took a packed dinner for our overnight train journey, it was very good & the quantity was too much. 2 parcels are enough... More
It was a very pleasant experience, dining at the Ganges restaurant in Beijing. The food was extremely tasty, expected as the cooks were from India. The ambience was excellent, with Indian music playing in the background. The one thing which struck me as strange was that onion pakoras were passed off as a main course dish in the buffet !... More
Not too much to say about Ganges apart from it's probably the best Indian option in Beijing, though the competition isn't great. The food is fine, nothing wrong with the taste but it would struggle to stay in business in the UK. The portions are very small and expensive, and with drinks and sides added you can be looking at...
