Description: Sureño is the Mediterranean restaurant located on the lower ground level...
Sureño is the Mediterranean restaurant located on the lower ground level of The Opposite House—an intriguing urban hotel in the cosmopolitan district of Sanlitun. The warm interiors boast an open kitchen and a wood fired oven that evoke the casual style of the Mediterranean, where guests can also watch the live action while they dine. The menus draw on the freshest ingredients of Southern Europe and are updated quarterly at the turn of seasons.Through the à la carte and tasting menus, the restaurant focuses on seafood, hand made pastas, salads, and tapas, as well as choice cuts of imported meat prepared in the wood fired oven. A welcome break of Mediterranean food in the Chinese Capital

This restaurant is base very good on Spanish, Italian, and other mediterranean dishes with a well balanced selection of wines. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed, located in a shopping mall near embassy row.

Wanting a break from Chinese cuisine, we ventured out to this restaurant in the Opposite House hotel, an ultra-cool boutique-type venue. A beautiful spot -- could easily be in New York City or London -- and both stylish and comfortable. But we thought the food was just average and the prices quite high (that coming from New Yorkers used to... More

I have been dining at Sureno for 3 years now and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious and the menu changes often enough that I never grow bored by the offerings. Dinner is my favourite time to dine at this restaurant, however, if I have a week day off, I will always treat myself... More

It's a super cool place, great atmosphere to waste away a cold Beijing day. Food is always consistently good and service nice albeit they are also 'cool' and sometimes forget the requests and need to be reminded. We took the option of adding RMB 200 per person for champagne. As we were friends catching up with a visitor from out... More

My wife and I had a delicious meal there. The menu included a range of dishes that cater to all appetites. While mains were on the expensive side, their pizzas are more moderately priced and looked delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant has an expansive wine list. The restaurant, while perfect for date night, was bustling. If... More

We always make it a point to have lunch at Sureño. The appetizers are always exceptional. The veal Milanese is my favorite dish. The service is always outstanding. The ambience is also very modern and comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I had a very good spritz and few courses to eat, some of that ok, some of that disappoint. The frittura was good, The paella was the same average standard of what you can have in any Beijing restaurant, Dry, salty and taste of bones. To finish, The tiramisu won the prize to be one of the worst ever tasted,... More
