My husband, daughter and I dined here after completing a tour and having a complimentary drink as part of that tour. As it was getting late, we decided to have the special 3 course dinner offered to participants of the tour and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately, there was not a table on the balcony overlooking Forbidden City complex under... More

The ambiance is perfect for twilight drinks overlooking the Beijing beautiful landmark. I am not impressed with food (steak, risotto and ravioli). However, I enjoy the atmosphere, great service, pavlova and a glass of Sancerre. It's a great place to visit if you come to Beijing. It's as impressive as M on The Bund in Shanghai.

Great and phenomenal location! The food and service is good a bit pricy but who cares if you go for a romantic dinner. Their wine list is the best I have seen in China and the desserts have blown me away. Hard to get a window table as they are booked long in advance. Over all a good experience.

We had Sunday brunch at Capital M. It is a high class restaurant, but that is reflected in the price. The decor and ambience is very good. The Maitre D on the day we were there did a great job, but our waiter was either badly trained or else didn't care. The food was below the standard one would expect... More

I have had the amazing good fortune to enjoy M on the Fringe in Hong Kong since it opened in 1889 (alas to have closed 20 years later due to leasing issues), M on the Bund in Shanghai weekly (and the Glamour Bar as well) when my husband/I lived there 2004-2008 (and flew in from Beijing for my 40th birthday... I loved the food, which is best described as Chinese fusion. Service was intuitive and friendly. Wonderful location near the Forbidden City. It is expensive, especially if wine is selected. Their wine list is the best I have seen in China.

The only good thing about Capital M is the view. The service was lacking. I had to get up from the table and fill our champagne flutes as the waitstaff was no where to be found. When I pay almost $100 per bottle I don't want to have to serve it myself! I ordered the Australian Rib Eye, and was... More

This is a remarkable dining experience up above Tianmien Square. In a very elegant Art Deco decor the menu offers very creative and sophisticated choices. The presentation and service are impeccable and attentive . The restaurant offers also a large and cosy bar area and a superb outside terrace, more of a landscaped deck with a magnificent view of the... More

We had a really nice meal here. The restaurant is beautiful with a view over Tiananmen Square from the attractive terrace. If you want to sit outside on the terrace make sure you say so when you book - we hadn't mentioned it and we're seated inside which was also very attractive but rather empty and therefore lacking in atmosphere....
