Chinese dining is such a social experience that solo dining can sometimes be a lonely experience. Not so here - albeit the restaurant was full of parties, they placed the solo diner with a great view of the kitchen which kept him entertained. I love this restaurant: been here before, first review, will be back again. It's in a high... More

Don't let the hotel atmosphere fool you. Outstanding food, lots of variety. Open kitchens all around create a theatrical/circus environment. Wine is boldly expensive (not odd for Beijing). Any of the hand made dumplings, pulled noodle are amazing and made before your eyes. We did not have the Peking Duck that night, but have read that its one of the... More

Well.. the decoration is temptation, but if you are looking for a good Beijing duck, here is not the place. One BJ duck costs over 350+ RMB. Neverthess the taste is so so. The presentation, condiments and the taste is nth to compare with Duck de Chine. The service is also suck. We were put in the tearoom and I... More

I was surprised by the reviews stating how terrible the service was here. We came as a group of 16 on a recommendation from a friend of mine who has been several times and raves about the duck. Making a reservation was a bit difficult because of their strict policies (it is nearly impossible to change a reservation and you... More

I just had a meal at this famous restaurant, of which I have been a constant customer since it opened 10 years ago, but since recently it continues to disappoint. We had a dinner at 8:30 (they have seattings you must specify), pre-ordered a duck, and the duck was served to us one hour late without real explanation, or waiter... More

Their homemade fois gras ( goose liver on toast ) with sweet jam a popularity among regular patrons. Roasted duck absolutely new style.

Nice restaurant and excellent location. Really good Peking Duck. Poor service from the beginning to the end, even though we had preordered table two months ahead.

Name is a bit unfortunate, but this is one of our long time favourite restaurants. Service can be (often is) a bit patchy, but the food is delicious and the ambiance is wonderful. Relaxed for Sunday lunch or an evening dinner alike. Very worthwhile for a special meal. Remember to order your duck or your half duck when you book... More

Was there again. the booking for a table was not honoured. we had to wait. Beggar's chicken was bait dry. Rest of the food was OK. not more than OK. I remembered it as a better place to eat. Still fancy, nice and pricy.

Not cheap but worth every penny for the experience and atmosphere. The Peking Duck is quite excellent. Team of chefs worked right next to our table which added to the whole experience. Great food!!
