Peking duck is one of our favorite dishes and when we travel to asia we always go out for at least one duck. This was our first trip to Beijing and we were excited to finally try Peking duck in it's original environment. Given the ratings on Li Qun and the prior reviews from Trip Advisor and Anthony Bourdain, we... More

As I was alone travelling to Bejing and found this nice place via a friends reco.... They have now a newer building around 200m away from the former place. Food was great and they also teaches me how to eat the pancakes painted with special sauce and filled with duck meat, onions and cucumber. Be aware that the tripadvisor map... More

It is true - the duck is superb and with a whole one enough for 8-10 pancakes each! You're well fed and as a couple we came out feeling full but not too full. Cost was roughly £38 for both of us including two beers. It isn't the prettiest restaurant you'll ever visit as it is a traditional hutong. We... More

This restaurant down a Beijing alleyway is a great place to take visitors. They can see the traditional way of roasting duck on an open flame, wander around the hutongs, and eat delicious duck all in one setting. However, the restaurant itself is falling apart and doesn't look very clean. That's part of the experience, too, but might make some... More

There are many roast duck restaurants in Beijing but there is only ONE Li Qun Roast Duck Restaurant! I love food and in particular the chinese kitchen. I have learned to cook many dishes from several provinces around China ranging from easy to complicated, but the roasted duck is not for home cooks like me. The restaurant looks pretty shabby... The Peking duck is outstanding there is no doubt about that. It takes 40 to 60 minutes to get ready once you order, but it's totally worth the waiting. The meat is very tasty with good moisture, the crisp skin (which normally I never eat) was very nice and melting apart once you put in your mouth. The duck wasn't... More

Having first visited this restaurant in 2000, when arriving there meant meandering through narrow lanes as it was well hidden amongst the hutongs , it was quite a shock to find it now opposite a pile of rubble just off a main(ish) road. It is hard not to think that its days are numbered. So go fast but don't expect... More

I visited this restaurant during a recent trip to Beijing. Fortunately the hotel we stayed at was within walking distance from the restaurant. Firstly if you are not familiar with the location and have not previously been to this restaurant it might take a bit of an effort to find it. The restaurant is hidden within a lane of a... More

One of the most funniest places I've eaten in my life. Although the hygine was not on a very high level this is a restaurant you have to visit when you are in Beijing. We had to wait about an half a hour before they had a table for us but it was worth to wait. The Roast Duck was... More

Your place if you are into the journey and character of a place. A must walk to find, well worth the challenge. Hutong neighbors will point the way if you have your tones right. Classic ambiance, just focus on how they roast the duck and not on how the dishes are washed. A place for the hardy & inquisitive traveler.... More
