good duck, fantastic eggplant

This was my second time eating here, my first time was about 5 years ago, it was really memorable I just knew I had to come back. The second time around I ordered the 2 persons set meal costs RMB 320 (a bit overpriced, imho) if I'm not mistaken. The set includes 1 whole peking duck, 3 plates of... read more

This was an amazing experience and the food was sensational...... Real old time and world famous restaurant highly recommended just make sure you book ahead as it is a very popular place, and a short stroll to Tiananmen Square for afterwards. ENJOY....

If you're looking for good Peking roast duck, this little place is a great alternative to larger, more commercialized establishments and chains. It is not the cleanest place and is quite gritty overall but the food and atmosphere makes up for it all. If you don't have a reservation, go early (around 5:30). At least one server speaks fairly good... More

There were 4 of us and it took a bit of time to find this place, but it was well worth the process. This is located down an alley and you could walk right by it - except that there was a line of people waiting to get in. Luckily one of the people in our group had called for... More

You have to find this place, it's tricky but well worth the hunt. An experience you will not forget. We took our kids (6&9), busy place with bags of character and magnificent wood fired duck.

We ate at Li Qun at the recommendation of our driver. The theatrics of the atmosphere are strong here: down an alley in a run-down building, no AC, etc. Our driver took care of ordering for us. We instructed him that we were not terribly hungry, but wanted to have the "Peking Duck experience." Judging from context, we ended up... More

Yes, it is in a quaintly small and run-down hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but its earthy authenticity did not deliver anything special on the plate. Just had duck three days ago in chain restaurant in a mall in Beijing (I live here), and I detected nothing different at Li Qun. Don't get me wrong - it was perfectly fine, just run of... More

I can only echo the sentiments of nmd964's review. Our group of 5 duck eaters had exactly the same experience. In a city where very good food can be had for very little money, Liqun is living on its reputation. Three guide books rated it the best duck in the city, which probably explains why they can get away with... More

Peking duck is one of our favorite dishes and when we travel to asia we always go out for at least one duck. This was our first trip to Beijing and we were excited to finally try Peking duck in it's original environment. Given the ratings on Li Qun and the prior reviews from Trip Advisor and Anthony Bourdain, we... More

As I was alone travelling to Bejing and found this nice place via a friends reco.... They have now a newer building around 200m away from the former place. Food was great and they also teaches me how to eat the pancakes painted with special sauce and filled with duck meat, onions and cucumber. Be aware that the tripadvisor map... More
