Excellent and authentic Beijing Duck in a rustic setting

I visited Li Qun with my wife and her parents. Though we arrived early (before 6) we still had to wait close to an hour for a table. You can only book the duck in advance, not the table. It is therefore advisable to either come very early or to bring some patience. Little stools are provided... read more

We read about this place and it was close to our hotel, so we walked there. It's in a Hutong, so the walk is also fun. When we got there we were told we'd have to wait 30 mins for a table, but after 2 mins we were seated. I loved the way this restaurant looks. Very authentic and cozy.... More

We were recommended Li Qun from different sources when we wanted an authentic and original Peking duck experience. We were not let down. The duck and the side dishes were excellently prepared, and very tasty. The set meals are good value. However don't expect a shiny new and clean restaurant. What you get here are flames, dust and the feeling... More

I've had "Peking" quite a few times in the US both in NY and San Francisco. The paled in comparison. This is THE place. The food is great. It's also an experience to eat here. One walks past the ovens where the duck is roasted. This is NOT a beautiful restaurant. This is.. rustic. Service is fast, efficient, friendly and... More

We heard through the grapevine in Beijing about a few good duck places, and ended up going here without a reservation. We were 3rd on the list to be seated and sat outside for about 30 minutes before we were seated. We were seated in a cramped table by the kitchen, with a note-counting machine on the spare seat... However... More

If you're looking for good Peking roast duck, this little place is a great alternative to larger, more commercialized establishments and chains. It is not the cleanest place and is quite gritty overall but the food and atmosphere makes up for it all. If you don't have a reservation, go early (around 5:30). At least one server speaks fairly good... More

There were 4 of us and it took a bit of time to find this place, but it was well worth the process. This is located down an alley and you could walk right by it - except that there was a line of people waiting to get in. Luckily one of the people in our group had called for... More

You have to find this place, it's tricky but well worth the hunt. An experience you will not forget. We took our kids (6&9), busy place with bags of character and magnificent wood fired duck.

This was my second time eating here, my first time was about 5 years ago, it was really memorable I just knew I had to come back. The second time around I ordered the 2 persons set meal costs RMB 320 (a bit overpriced, imho) if I'm not mistaken. The set includes 1 whole peking duck, 3 plates of appetizer... More
