Description: In April 1962, as Mombasa was growing into one of East Africa’s busiest ports, Dalip Singh Wilkhu had a vision. While working as a signal operator for East African Railways, he was inspired to feed arriving visitors while preparing packaged meals for those preparing to depart. Singh Restaurant was born. Since then, Singh Restaurant has fed generations of people from various walks of life… providing lunches and dinners for entire groups of workers, for families, for individuals… and becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, and drawing visitors from nearby cities such as Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Our success comes from high quality in all aspects of our business, from the food we serve, to our operational efficiency, to the atmosphere we provide our visitors from the moment they walk in, until the moment they depart. Our quality of food and quality of service has helped Singh Restaurant gain recognition as the most highly recommended Indian restaurant in Mombasa by sources including TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet.

Now this is what I call Indian Punjabi Cuisine at its best. Not a very hi fi restaurant but the food is over 5 star. I have tried several dishes here and each ones better than the other. The butter chicken is worth the 30 min wait. Highly recommended restaurant if you're an Indian cuisine fan. Plus not very heavy... More

Singh Restaurant remains one of the best restaurants in Mombasa. Though situated in downtown Mombasa the restaurant keeps calling one back.. The waiters k ow the dishes very well and will advise if the dish is too hot (chilli that is, especially for children) and they have an excellent attitude. The owner, though laid back is also very helpful. The... More

The ambiance is high quality. The level of cleanliness was impressive. I went there primarily as a vegetarian Indian. However, my African companions were so bowled over by everything there that they became regular patrons of the restaurant every Sunday. The food is authentic Indian but palatable for those who are used to lower quantities of spices provided the same is... More

This is probably one of the oldest establishment serving Indian food in Mombasa. we visited at the Lunch time. It had air conditioned and non-air conditioned section. We had our meal in air-conditioned section. We ordered Aubergine bhartha, Stuff paratha, Sarson ka Saag and Makai di roti with salted lassi. It took more that 30 minutes to get our order.... More

The food here was well priced and delicious. Th Goan Fish Curry was our highlight. We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation, but were told booking is usually a must. There were lots of Indians eating there, which is always a good recommendation. Lovely and cool too with good air con, and friendly staff. A Mombasa... More

reserving a table three days earlier, we went there as group of four. Me, my boyfriend, Mother and our driver. The first impression was good, because the askari was keeping an eye on our driver's car, so that he could join our dinner. Secondly, our waiter was really friendly and the starters came as quickly as we were eating them!... More

We went there on Sunday evening and the restaurant was half filled with customers. The waiter took down our orders but forgot to bring our roast papads. He did bring them when prompted. For some reason there was no music in the restaurant which resulted in lack of ambience. The food was very good especially the Pepper wings and the Mari... More
