This restaurant is a dining experience. The food is interesting and different from any we have enjoyed before. The location is exotic with a lovely balcony overlooking the water. Fresh seafood is prepared in a barbeque style where diners can see it and the male waiting staff are resplendent in clean, white robes complete with Fez hat. Highly recommend a... More

We pre-booked a table for twenty people on a Thursday evening and were very excited at the prospect of some delicious food and excellent service. We took our seats as the only group in the whole restaurant and placed our orders without much fuss. We waited for quite a while to be served our food and when it did eventually... More

This restaurant is beautiful. The setting is just devine. Lighting at night gorgeous. Mombasa was empty due to the travel advisories but I'm sure the service is always as attentive. It is expensive but mostly worth it for the experience. The menu so extensive as to be overwhelming - in a good way. The oysters were delicious (piri piri were... More

You can't beat this place for the ambience. Pre lunch cocktails are served with a bowl of nibbles that includes local prawns and taro toot chips. The menu is not vast but has everything you could possibly want in a coastal city. Everything is presented beautifully and the service team ensures you are enjoying the meal before melting away discreetly.... More

Had an absolutely gorgeous meal/ late lunch here on Fri. In fact it was so good we had to go back the next day for another late lunch and guess what?? It was as good. The staff are great. The food fab. The service spot on. The views are stunning. You don't feel you are in a hustle bustle town.... More

I stay in Mombasa frequently for work, and the Tamarind's number is in my favourite contacts. The exotic menu and Portuguese influenced dishes exploding with flavour will keep me coming back for more! The ambience is second to none, with live music and very attentive staff, with cool breezes off the water. I'd fly to Mombasa just to eat there... More

Staying in the hotel for 1 night, I had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant in the evening. The crab I had was delicious and clearly very fresh! We were a fairly large group and the service was very nice, but painfully slow. Everyone enjoyed their food and was very happy with it, but all were a bit annoyed... More

We have visited Tamarind several times over the years and while the food (especially the sea food) and ambience is normally fantastic, this time it wasn't quite as good. The ambience was there but it was crowded (which means it does good business). The food was great but we found it a bit pricey this time round. I would go... More
