Eat a crocodile

After a week on safari it is a little special to be in a real restaurant. Okay not totally normal. What you just saw on the safari you now are going to eat on a plate. Simple, basic but a huge experience. Do it if you have the time.

Tour operators typically include Carnivore as a stop to make the long layover from the camps to the evening flights tolerable. Skip it. Soup was good, side dishes are very filling but uninspired. meats only seem good if you aren't used to quality meats. Not really much exotic game on the menu. The crocidile was tough and chewy, the beef... More

One of the best places in the world that we have eaten at! It has great food, great staff, a great atmosphere and its CHEAP...what more could you ask for?

The whole dining experience was excellent. The atmosphere was like a safari experience, with excellent food, well seasoned, and prepared properly. All in all, a great evening with friends and family. I highly recommend this place.

I visited Carnivore as a tourist in 2010 and recently again as a resident in Kenya. I am a vegetarian so obviously this is not the best place for me to rate. There is a choice of about 6-8 vegetarian dishes, so far I have tried 2 and they were just okay, nothing special. Those from he group who eat... More

If you are on a business trip to Nairobi there is a 99% chance that you'll be eating one night here. As a vegetarian I wanted to see if there would be any options to eat and their website wasn't too helpful. Bottom line...they have a vegetarian menu, the food was amazing and I would return just for the vegetarian... More

I liked all the sorts of meat, served in this restaurant - ostrich meatballs, crocodile, camel, lamb, cow, goat. Carnivore serves dishes in a brazilian style - you pay once and eat as much as you can. Waiters bring different meat types one after another, and they don't stop until you raise white flag, meaning you gave up. After you... More

I thought the atmosphere and setting was quite nice -a fun place to go with a group and have a leisurely dinner or lunch. As far as the food goes, it was just OK. As it has been said before, the meat is bbqued and is not overly exciting and the servings don't end until you put your flag down.... More

The private tour guide/driver suggested us to go to this restaurant (probably because he'd get some incentives). USD 50 per person for salad, bread, and then meat as much as we like (excluding drinks of course). Not surprisingly, the restaurant does not serve any game meat. We had ostrich and crocodile in addition to the usual beef, chicken and pork.... More

Because of certain laws you can't eat lion or other wild animals. But eventrough it was nice to have been there. The food was great and the service was excellent. They create a friendly and welcome atmosphere.
