Stay at your table, various kinds of meats come to you. The variety is quite extensive but apparently not as exotic as it used to be (no antelope meat). Quality depends on the specific cut you get; some were dry, some very well cooked. In line with the title, vegetarians won't have much to choose from. Service when I went... More

Quality of the food was poor-meet dry and lacked taste. After the initial rush of waiters carving various meal on your plate the Service was slow. We had a table in the garden - flys all over the food. Had an upset stomach afterwards.

Since I am not a meat lover I can only review this from the fun my friends appeared to be having. A huge menu with a wonderful selection. The drinks were good. Very lively music and alot going on make this a fun evening. They were very generous with the food and the staff was very anxious to please.

My mother recently underwent surgery... which means she can't eat much... I asked if she could choose from the Simba saloon menu while the rest of us feasted on meat. At first there was no problem... she chose a small meat platter. Then she was told she couldn't have the meat. It seems like the management have no flexibility... I... More

Have visited Carnivore several times with different tourist groups, and many have the same reaction - nice stop, decent food and interesting/upbeat atmosphere. Would recommend it for first time Nairobi visitors and for any die hard meat lover!

We visited this restaurant twice, first visiting the full barbecue section and secondly having a steak and burger in the bar area. The barbecue is an interesting gimmick and the food is decent. That said it is very expensive for lunch and the restaurant enforces a mandatory 3 course set menu. We were taken here by a tour company the... More

My husband and two adult sons made sure this restaurant was on the list of things to do in Nairobi and, not being a huge meat consumer, I went along with grave reservations. Surprisingly all four of us had one of the best nights we can remember for great food, service and novelty experience. The meats cover any type of... More

This well known Nairobi dining destination does have a lively atmosphere but the quality of the meat was very average and the dining experience is completely over-rated/over-hyped. The exotic meat was interesting---the camel meat was excellent, the ox balls were tasty, but the crocodile meat was nasty. The other "normal" regular meat choices weren't very good. In two weeks of... More

You have to be willing to eat anything here, including ox testicles! I couldn't do that however! The meats were well cooked and I am glad I went, but don't think I would go back again. It was very busy when we were there, and the service was excellent. There is no limit to the amount of food to eat,... More

Carnivore is probably best described as a place you go for the story about going there. It features a festive atmosphere with lots of big tables of tourists and celebratory parties. There is a decent bar and a dance area and the dining areas are arranged so it feels like a smaller venue than you would expect based on the... More
