Description: Dari means canopy in Swahili and our inspiration for the name came from...
Dari means canopy in Swahili and our inspiration for the name came from our indigenous forest that has been preserved by 2 families for the last 70 years. This forest has the oldest indigenous tree in Nairobi, which is estimated to be about 300 years old. The restaurant has been built at the edge of a natural spring, in the middle of this indigenous forest with utmost sensitivity to environmental conservation. We did our landscaping with hand wheel barrows to reduce vehicular foot print in the forest. One of Dari's best secrets lies in the gardens. Our well maintained lawns can host upto 4 functions at the same time, totaling to 1700 pax. We also have an ample secure parking facility. At Dari Restaurant, we have preserved a natural indigenous forest. Our garden is patrolled by beautiful Thomsons' gazelles, Impalas, Dik-diks, Bush babies, Tree hyrax, Tree squirrels and birds like peacocks, cranes, hornbills, sunbirds to name a few.

Excellent ambience and great outdoor sitting. The Gazelles make you feel much closer to nature. The food is excellent and service is good with friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth another visit. Chege

Great outdoor environment. I got to see some Thomson's gazelles in their semi-natural setting. The food quite good.

This may be my millionth review but I simply don't know how these guys do it. Four times later the food is as great, the wine even better, the service even better. Maybe the fact a local political head owns the place has something to do with it. You get blankets and jikos when it's chilly and the home made... More

I have been here for breakfast, bacon was beyond crispy,it was hard, hash browns were not well done, avocado puree was bland, not seasoned, only enjoyed their hot chocolate and view.Tried it 2 more times for lunch and dinner.I have given up,they have so much potential,I wish they could up their kitchen game.Their service could also improve.I will stick to drinks and enjoying the view... I like the set up with tables under trees and others in well manicured lawns and great landscaping. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting area. You can also take nature walks.

a friend gave me this Dari discovery and I am totally sold into the place. Pleasant service; just need to remember to check on those sitting in the gardens more often. The gardens are a winner, and the food totally sumptuous...anyone with oriental taste should try the Thai green chicken with chapati.

Two friends and I enjoyed a lovely dinner. The waiter we had was extremely attentive and made great recommendations -he could have checked on us more often though. Dari is clearly popular seeing as it's often fully booked for private functions -which can be annoying. The steaks are particularly good as is their wine list. Definitely worth visiting again

After driving for several hours stopped here for a lovely snack in a beautiful garden setting, felt revived and able to drive on into Nairobi.
