Lovely all around

This place deserves the accolades. Lovely people, waiters know their craft, food tasty and authentic. Decor a bit scruffy but local place the way I like it. HUGE portions.

The food is fresh. with spicy foods, restaurants sometimes try pass off not so fresh food but not at this place. The proprietor and his wife make rounds confirming that clients are well taken care... A hidden gem, if you have a taste for Ethiopian food, this is the place to go.. Nothing fancy, simple open layout, good attentive service at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

A portable stove fire was lit to make sure we were kept warm and drinks were served. A frequent Kenya traveller guided us to what needed to be ordered... More

We split an injera and combination platter between 4 people. The food was exquisite. Prices are reasonable, for food as well as drinks. I'm vegeterian and the veg platter was really good and filing (including chickpeas and lentils).

Visited last week for a team outing. Food is pretty authentic, very close to the Ethiopian food I had in Addis. Really good value for money. Way better than Sabrina's in Lavington. Service : 7/10 Food : 8/10 Ambience : 8/10 VFM : 9/10

Abyssinia provides good Ethiopian food for average Nairobi prizes, laid-back atmosphere and attentive (for Nairobi standards) staff.
