If you are looking for a nice romantic evening in Nairobi then this nice Italian place in the Village Market is a good bet. My wife and I went on a Friday night and the candle-lit atmosphere was lovely. It also wasn't too crowded (most likely because it was raining heavily that night), but in any event it is good... More

Like most things in Europe or Africa, the tax or VAT is included in the price. Well, not at Osteria. They shock you with a much higher bill than what you see in the menu. Nasty trick. All other restaurants in Nairobi are not under-handed like this.

This was my second visit this year. The restaurant has great atmosphere - outdoor tables, braziers blazing away. The service is very good, the staff attentive but not overwhelming. However the food is a little disappointing. It is good but no more. That would not stop me returning but would stop me recommending for great Italian food.....go for the experience.... More

This is a place where you can easily dine alone and feel part of the overal camaraderie. The staff are friendly and the food is good middle of the road Italian with better tah usual pizzas. Live music adds to the general ambience.

The premise is just the same as Carnivore. The restaurant is fantastic. I highly recommend it, especially if you go on an empty stomach since there is SO MUCH delicious meat to enjoy.

We visited Osteria Gigiri as we have enjoyed previous visits at this location and at Del Chianti. Upon being given the menus, we noticed that all the pages were new, but the items and the prices seemed to be the same, but then we noticed the big change. At the bottom of each page it was printed that all prices... More

I like the old Osteria, but its not convenient to get to for those who live near Runda etc. thus was glad to see it appear in Gigiri. I admit that the older one in Hurlingham has greater ambiance and outdoor setting, but food is still great at Gigiri location.

While friendly and in a useful location the way the food is put together has fallen off over the last two years. The ham on the pizza's just doesn't rate compared to what I like from Italy.

The restaurant is inside a shopping mall so for me was initially a turn off. However it is good to put aside conceived notions and so we had lunch there. It wasn't an exceptional experience but it was very pleasant and enjoyable. And of course you could still do your shopping, assuming you have energy left, after you meal.
