Nice treat in Gigiri

Very good dining experience on a Friday night. Very tasty crab and pasta dish with a generous and good glass of red wine. The atmosphere is really enjoyable thanks to a live band playing classic jazz pieces with an excellent female singer. Service is perfect and the Chef walks around to greet... read more

I have ordered food from this restaurant and have been perpetually disappointed. I will never eat another meal from there. After waiting over an hour for my food to arrive it was completely cold. Further to this the salad dressing and tartar sauce where forgotten. I was then told that the forgotten accompaniments would take another hour. When speaking to... More

Osteria is wonderful every time you go! The appetizer is amazing - the coconut chicken soup is phenomenal, and the wine is superb! Every meal is delicious! We go every weekend.

After coming back from a safari, we stopped at the Italian restaurant Osteria Gigiri in Nairobi. We were in the mood for non-African food. The food was amazing. They have a fire oven for bread and pizza. The Margherita pizza was awesome as was the Spaghetti Pesto. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic and the service was excellent. They also have... More

We went to the Osteria Village Market last weekend and was expecting authentic Italian food . The place looks a bit shabby with poorly laid tables and dirty chairs. The food was average and definitely not the best Italian food I've had in Nairobi. The service is bad and our drinks came after we were halfway through the meal. In all... More

Went there with my wife a couple of days back for the first time after friends raved about it to no end. We were very dissapointed. We had made a prior booking but on getting there, it seemed that they had not listed our booking and wanted to send us on our way. Finally they offered us a table in... More

Osteria is an established name in Nairobi, but our last three visits have proven that is completely unjustified. Every we time ordered pasta, the sauce was scolding hot, very apparently out of the microwave. This means the texture and flavour is ruined. Additionally, the flavour of the tomato sauce (base for many other pasta sauces) seems as if it is... More

Located in the Village market and run by an Italian chef, this restaurant has a great and tasty variety of starters, pasta, pizza, meat, seafood, and of course Italian wines.

This was a very nice surprise in the expanding Village Market. We three had the lasagne, spaghetti carbonara and the ragu pizza, which after a large complimentary 'starter', proved to be more than enough. Good house wine, reasonably priced, together with good service made for an enjoyable evening out.

We were at the Village Market yesterday to run some chores when we chanced upon their signage at the entrance for a set menu luncheon, three courses for $1000 ksh each. The choices sounded good, so without even glancing at their menu ordered our food and drinks. The patio was bright and light for Sunday lunch, and the wood-fired pizza... More
