Friday night is seafood theme night at this restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the barbeque lobster and king prawn which were fresh and grilled perfectly ! Also serves oysters and sushi, as well as other standard buffet dishes. Waiters are attentive and offer very good service. Good selection of pastry, crepes, cheese and fruit to finish off. Restaurant setting is also very... More

Finding a good steak house in Nairobi is a challenge today and a friend recommended this place but..... sorry I won't recommend having steak there..... To being with, the kids menu came with pictures to colour. We asked for the colour pencils but never got them....... not even a pen...... luckily managed to pacify the kids with our own pens.... On Sundays there is no buffet but à la carte. At 3000 KES per person it was not cheap, including soup and salad buffet (excellent), desert buffet (appealing to the eye, but nothing special when it comes to the taste, includes also fruits, but there was no ice cream, though they had it before), coffee or tea and one of... Usually there's a great salad bar and buffet, there are different themed evenings for example on Friday it's all Fish and seafood, on Saturday evenings it's Mombasa Swahili type food. Eat as much as you like!

Stayed at the hotel for 4 days and the breakfast buffet was served at Cafe Magreb. The spread is fantastic and covers a lot of cuisines including Indian (for Indians travelling to Kenya). Kenya is known for fresh juices and these guys make some of the best stuff. Loved my breakfast on all four days. Great Variety, Great Service!

I had Christmas Eve dinner with my husband last night and I was very disappointed. The wine list to start was wrong as it had Calatteri wine stated as origin S.A while it actually is from Chile. The bread was stale. I asked for fresh bread and I was presented with the same bread basket. My starter of prawn was... More

I will certainly in not share many of the enthusiastic opinions hereunder. First the set up next to the Serena hotel swimming pool is very agreeable but absolutely, strictly nothing to do with the picture shown by trip advisor (even the name of the restaurant on the picture is different!) At all meals you have both buffets and à la... More

We ate every meal at the Cafe Maghreb while we were in Nairobi, and were never disappointed, either by the quality and taste of the food offered, or by the service --- both of which were absolutely outstanding. We were so impressed by the food on the buffet, for example, that we spoke to Lawrence, the Restaurant's Manager, and told... More

The Cafe Maghreb that I know is in Serena Hotel, Nairobi and doesn't look at all like the picture here (which is of Nairobi Java House). Dear Trip Advisor Admin, please remove this image of Java house to avoid ambiguity. Coming back to my review, its a very nice place but very expensive by all means and standards, hence 3... More

We had excellent breakfast everyday and had dinner on several nights. the seafood special"Mombasa night' was great. The swahili night or the grilled meat extravaganza one night was superb. Enjoyed the very friendly staff and service. I preferred this place than the formal Mandhari upstairs.
