Very much like a private club this is one of the better hotels in Nairobi. Clean and comfortable with a nice restaurant (although sitting on a verandah by the road can be a bit daunting and needs some attention to security). Not so nice is the way the cabbies more or less jump on you if they think you are... More

Stayed here for 6 days over business reviews in October 2011 and this hotel is up with the best in East Africa. Location wise not the best as you get caught in Nairobi traffic but if you not traveling too much its perfect.

The food at Norfolk, be it at the Tatu Restaurant or at the terrace is ok - good in fact depending on what you order. This was a professional dinner held by my husband's employer. We wined and dined in an atmosphere that was professional and the ambiance great. Everything had been well thought out e.g. the salads were mixed and served to each persons preference and it didn't take long.

We went with a big group for the afternoon tea and I was expecting something rather more impressive. It was ok but don't think you are going to the Ritz or the Peninsular. You pay nearly as much though.

Norfolk is the old standby for tourists and diplomats. It's extremely classy and I've probably logged half a dozen stays there over the past several years. It has a higher end restaurant out back, a nice pool, and pleasant bar and entry area. Sadly, the rooms are a bit dated but the overall feel of the place makes up for... More
