Fantastic restaurant, beautiful evening out

This is a fantastic place, as per all the reviews (which is what took me there). I highly recommend it for the perfect romantic evening, it is really somewhere special. One thing to note is that it is a bit far out and can be hard to find, better directions would be a big help for hungry travellers!

One of the best restaurants in Nairobi for sea food! I know people enjoy outings in various places, but this was just a treat for me. The staff always keen to details and food was superb. Mark it on your list when coming to Nairobi.

Beautifully prepared food in a relaxed garden environment. The menu is simple but this allows the kitchen staff to give attention to detail in presentation and ensure the food is prepared really well. This seems to be a favourite amongst expats so expect to hear a wide variety of languages spoken at tables around you!

Was taken out for dinner to Tamarind, Karen last week and I have to say they have STILL got it! What an amazing dinner and they still do the BEST dawas in Nairobi (as much as that pains me to say as I think I make a pretty mean dawa myself). SO excited to be going back again tonight -... More

Tamarind stands out as the place to be in Nairobi for one looking to have a sumptous delicacy of seafood. They also have a pure vegeterian menu. Tamarind group Bravo!

There is nothing extraordinary about the restaurant. Location is good, if you live or work on that side of town - Karen. I do not believe that it is worth the drive from North Nairobi to Karen, though there are other restaurants in that area I will gladly drive across town to visit. The menu and service staff are average.... More

Tamarind restaurant is a great plac. if seated outside, only do this when it is warm and then one needs a 'Jiko'.. Fire.. The above question is not a good one can be misleading. The food is amazing. The waiters are amazing. Don't forget to have there signature Dawa drink to start the evening off.. Wonderful for celebrations or just... More

As a previous regular in the late 90's we were happy to try the new location less than 5 minutes from our house. The restaurant is nicely laid out although the ambiance was spoiled by a 10 year old playing on the floor around the tables. ( The Manager obviously didn't want to confront the parents) The food was mixed,... More
