Was taken out for dinner to Tamarind, Karen last week and I have to say they have STILL got it! What an amazing dinner and they still do the BEST dawas in Nairobi (as much as that pains me to say as I think I make a pretty mean dawa myself). SO excited to be going back again tonight -... More

Tamarind stands out as the place to be in Nairobi for one looking to have a sumptous delicacy of seafood. They also have a pure vegeterian menu. Tamarind group Bravo!

There is nothing extraordinary about the restaurant. Location is good, if you live or work on that side of town - Karen. I do not believe that it is worth the drive from North Nairobi to Karen, though there are other restaurants in that area I will gladly drive across town to visit. The menu and service staff are average.... More

Tamarind restaurant is a great plac. if seated outside, only do this when it is warm and then one needs a 'Jiko'.. Fire.. The above question is not a good one can be misleading. The food is amazing. The waiters are amazing. Don't forget to have there signature Dawa drink to start the evening off.. Wonderful for celebrations or just... More

As a previous regular in the late 90's we were happy to try the new location less than 5 minutes from our house. The restaurant is nicely laid out although the ambiance was spoiled by a 10 year old playing on the floor around the tables. ( The Manager obviously didn't want to confront the parents) The food was mixed,... More

The Tamarind remains my best ever resturant in Nairobi with exquisite food, impeccable service and a wonderful ambiance. Their location in Karen is even more spectacular away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre where they were previously located. The menus are very well presented and the food really very tasty. I ordered the crispy prawns for a... More

It was most conducive in terms of privacy, comfort, weather and human contact. The only thing l did not like bout the restaurant was the fact that they allowed for paintings to be displayed and sold. It spoilt the whole atmosphere, at least In my opinion.

Diner at the Tamarind was quite exceptional. The menu is well presented with a great variety of options, mainly seafood dishes, but great options for meatlovers as well. The food was very good and the service excellent, with staff being very attentive. The little touches, like writing little sayings and your name on your desert plate adds to this exceptional... We went here on our first night in Kenya and were not disappointed. It took awhile to get there though due to the traffic so do travel early if you want to arrive on time from the centre of Nairobi! All the staff were pleasant and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect - maybe just a bit chilly to start... More
