We went here on the recommendation of a friend and because we always enjoy Thai food. It is a beautiful, peaceful setting. We had wonderful, attentive service. The food was probably not as spicy as we would have liked, but it was still very tasty and beautifully presented. And the price was quite reasonable, especially considering the location in a... More

I'm afraid this is not what I would consider authentic but I must clarify that this is based on a Feb 2010 meal there, maybe it improved since. Nice decor and promises much more than it delivered. I would never expect to describe Thai food as bland but this was.

Have been to Thai Chi a few times and never been disappointed! Great real Thai food, great atmosphere and reliable service. Pricing very reasonable especially when compared to other Nairobi restaurants that don't have the same quality of food. One of the few restaurants in Nairobi where the standards are always high. If U R in Nairobi and crave some... More

We were excited by previous reviews and the fact that when you have a jones for Thai food in Africa your options are limited. The food was fine, nothing spectacular... and certainly nothing close to 'real' thai with the requisite heat or sour (but plenty of sweet and salty, they are obviously catering to non-thai eaters)... the maitre 'd was... There are not many Thai restaurants in Nairobi and Tai Chi is the best. The chef is Thai and the taste is more authentic than the others in but it's milder than the food you'd find in Thailand, which is normal for Thai restaurants abroad. I can't fault the service - the staff are clearly well-trained and very attentive but... More

We ate here twice on both nights we stayed at the Stanley in October. Food was excellent on each occasion- very authentic Thai, from their Thai chef. Lovely ambience and polite and attentive service without being too stuffy and formal. I can recommend the Som Tam and any of the curries! We came prepared for a huge bill (but thought... More

If you have had a true authentic Thai good, you would not call this Authentic. It was deficient in true flavor. My top three choices on the menu were not available. Service and ambiance is great .

The headline says it all, really. Expect to pay more than you normally might in Nairobi but get a superb Thai meal in exchange.
