Reliably good food

The first impression of the location is not very promising. The waiting staff are not that easy to identify, as they are all casually dressed (which is fine), but most are friendly and prompt. The food is outstanding.

Perfect for couples or just dining with a small group. There are kid-friendly items on the menu. I recommend for spice enthusiasts.

I went here after work with some friends. I''d never eaten Ethiopian before and had no idea what to expect. Really tasty stuff, lots of different things to try. Definitely somewhere I'd go back to. There were 9 of us, we all had a couple of beers each, and so much food we couldn't finish it, for under £50. Absolute... More

Habesha on Argwings Kodhek Road close to Yaya Shopping Centre is hidden behind a corrugated metal sheeting fence. Normally you would just drive past a place like this BUT..... Habesha is always busy with people from all over the world, the staff are super friendly and efficient and dealing with a large group is never a problem. They have a... More

The brain said to stop but the tongue and tummy continued to gulp the tasty / delicious / appetizing / yummy meal served at Habesha in Nairobi. Habesha is an Ethiopian restaurant situated in one of the green woody areas of Nairobi, not quite easily visible if you drive fast. We ordered the regular DORO WOT, (an Ethiopian favourite and... Having a deep love for ethiopian food, there are very few places out of Addis Ababa that serve the real McCoy. It's in a large garden where you can take friends out and enjoy habesha hospitality. Kitfo (raw meat) is also safe to eat if you dare to step out of your comfort zone. And wash it down with tej... More

We were a group of 13 on our final night in Nairobi. We sat outside in the gardens and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Fortunately we had a local who could order the food for us, so I didn't even look at the menu. We had the big platters of food and two side dishes, one of fish (which was delicious)... More

Wow, we just came from Ethiopia so we were expecting good tasting food, but Habesha greatly exceeded our expectations. The shiro, key wat, and assam wat were all delicious! The shiro was spiced deliciously and so was the assam wat. We enjoy spice and the dishes were flavorful and had a good amount of heat also. They have dark and... More

During a business trip to Nairobi for a scientific workshop with local partners, we had dinner in Ethiopian restaurant Habesha. The fact that our local partners had chosen this restaurant was already a very good sign, and I was not disappointed. Quite the contrary, we had a superb, authentic Ethiopian meal in a very nice atmosphere. Being a relatively large... More
