The Lantern menu includes local dishes, international favorites, and English cuisine. So you can go local or get a taste of home, wherever your home may be. Can't say enough about the freshness of the perfectly dressed salads that came with our entrees, the delicious mezze appetizer, or the slow-cooked goodness of the lamb-apricot tagine and the spicy meatballs. Topped... More

Because we didn't like the hotel buffet and The Lantern came highly recommended, we visited this restaurant on the second day of our two weeks stay in Luxor. We certainly were not disappointed and went back almost every night for the rest of our holiday, so this review is based upon nine visits in total! The atmosphere is warm, the... More

You have to book as it is so popular. We like the way Debbie runs this place like clockwork with such care and looks after visitors old and new. Hope to return next year.

New menu to an already fantastic array of dishes. The food is well prepared, served by well mannered staff and really lovely tasty dishes. Very good value for money considering in England you could pay double or even treble for some of the meals offered. ~I have eaten here many times and I always go back to the tried and... More

The restaurant was very welcoming and quite full. Most of the diners were over 60 I would estimate. Debbie was very good at greeting her guests and for many of them it was not their first visit. The menu is predominantly English - fish and chips, prawn cocktail etc but they do provide Tagines - which we chose to eat.... More

I revisited the Lantern on Tuesday evening around 20:30 and on entering the restaurant the place had such a buzz about it. Debbie, the owner could not be more welcoming with her bubbly personality that just shines through from the moment you step inside. A pre booked table was ready and waiting, it's advisable to book as the place is... More

During our trip to Luxor, we met two Irish girls who told us about The Lantern. The next evening we joined them and we were so happy we did! The owner, Debbie, is a wonderful host and the food was incredible. On my to-eat list while in Luxor was the dessert Om Ali. The Lantern didn't have it on the... More

the food at Debbie and Nasser's is ALWAYS great... new menu has so many nice things and real variety which you don't always get - it's nice to have choice especially when you visit Luxor as often as we do (3/4 times a year) and of course Debbie's desserts are to die for!

Reserve yours when you get there – they go fast – even as takeaways. 2 of us had Steak with Garlic and 1 chicken dish, as well as Stellas and Lemon Juice Food well presented and excellent – I have no idea about the Lemon Meringue Pie the other two had – I didn’t get a taste! All I know... More
