I was in Luxor again last month and of course I dined every evening @ The Lantern. Yet again Debbie, her husband and the rest of the team delivered excellent food and the best of service. I have written many times before of the delights of this restaurant, but don't take my word for it, please try for yourself. You... More

Ate here about five times in 14 days Sunday dinner awesome ok not very Egyptian and very little Britain of me granted. However lookout for hot wings oh and one of our dinner guests for a night was a New York critic and he loved it Debbie rest easy. Ok possibly a little expensive Egyptian standards hell pay a couple... More

Travelling as a group of mixed ages from 20 to 60 both English and Egyptian it was always going to be difficult to please everyone, every time... until we discovered The Lantern! So much to choose from and every meal was fabulous. Nothing is too much trouble and the owner Debbie goes out of her way to make sure everyone... More

Wow...thank you so much for making our trip to Luxor. The food was amazing, I have eaten on some of the worlds best cruise ships and the food in The Latern is just as delicious if not better. Lovely homemade quality food, with the best chips I've had in any restaurant. The homely environment with the extremely welcome you get... More

Visited this restaurant twice when on holiday recently and on both occasions had a very positive experience. The owners and staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the food. The spaghetti bolognaise was great, prepared from fillet steak and loads of flavour. On the second occasion it was the sea bass cooked Egyptian style which I would highly recommend. The... More

Our hotel was under occupied and my adult children wanted to eat out, so I looked on Tripadvisor and we decided on the Latern. We loved the food so much the first day that we decided to go there every day for dinner. The first day I had the minced meat pie and the mushroom soup, which I fell in... More

My daughter and I have eaten at this restaurant many times and whichever type of food we have had and we have tried a lot on the menu, from fish and chips, home made mince and onion pie to beautiful sea bass and roast dinners, we have always had a lovely meal. Debbie is a very friendly and most welcoming... More

I find your review some what strange "SMALL" we are a fifty cover restaurant large and spacious with lots of room between tables one of the largest local restaurants in fact, certainly not tightly packed. As for vegetarian choices with eight vegetarian starters and six vegetarian main courses im sure your partner could have found something she liked,it also states... More

This is very highly ranked in Luxor and, in fairness, the standard of restaurants in Luxor is SO BAD that it may actually be one of the best. The food was bland, overcooked and just poor. We all had fish which was as dry as a bone. The chef here is not good. The woman who runs the place is... More

Mm ive read your review with interest in fact ive read all your reviews for Luxor, obviously theres no pleasing you where ever you ate. As for the fish "being as dry as a bone" intersting as our fish is poached. As for myself the "owner" or as you so rudely put it "The Woman who runs the Place" i... More

Debbie is a wonderful host. She makes all her guests so welcome. The food is without a doubt the best in Luxor. I have tried all types of food on this menu, from tagines to curries, roast dinners and fish and chips and it is all first class. My personal favourite was the mutton and apricot tagine. I firmly believe... More
