You come all the way to Egypt and end up drinking lager or bitter in The Kings Head Pub. Surreal or what. This amazing pub is up a flight of stairs above a restaurant. Doesn't look very much from the outside, but once inside, you could be sitting in any pub in UK, with beer mats, lager for sale .... More

I've been going to Luxor for 25 years now, and never miss the chance to visit the King's Head. The staff are always very friendly & welcoming, some have been there since I first visited, and it's always nice to be recognised when I return. Prices are good too, with a beer an average at E£15. Good quality food is... More

Whilst we ceaan't speak for the food as we didn't eat here, we stopped off for beers on each of our days in Luxor. This pub is run by an Egyptian guy, his Egyptian/German son and the son's English partner. This makes it well placed to provide for European visitors and the fact that there's some younger people in charge... More

OMG yes not many places open but this pub restaurant has the Luxor gigolo gold flag. The food is good - admiration to the chef he must work very long hours and still produce reasonable cheap food. The predatory locals WILL back off if you make it very clear you and your husband do not want to be ripped of,... More

Georgina and Shady were so friendly and made us feel so welcome that we went to this pub nearly every day! The food was good for pub food, the wine and beer good. Its a chilled out place to play pool, chat and make friends. Great location right in the midst of things. We'll definitely visit next time we're in... More

We were hungry and had walked around for a while looking for somewhere to eat, but all the recommended restaurants were shut! It was a sad situation really.. a town that has such amazing heritage sites, and yet not a single place open to eat, except for a McDonald's opposite Luxor Temple, which I refused to eat in. We then... More

Great place if you want to catch up with sport. Food horrendous, can still feel the old oil our food was cooked in on the roof of my mouth.

Came here for lunch after failing to find another place and finding everything else closed. Glad we ended up here! proper pub with the footy on, nice staff, very strong cocktails and good food. I had the mixed grill, the girly had fish & chips, we had a side of chicken wings, was a lovely lunch. Wanted to come for... More

We visit Luxor regularly and King’s Head is handy to meet friends for a drink before going to local restaurants. It’s not easy to find, but there is an arrow sign on the street if you can keep your eyes peeled whilst sidestepping the caleche and taxi drivers. Go thro an entrance to a mini-arcade of tatty shops then up... More
