Good food, good chef

Gbrele Ahmed is the head chef here and the atmosphere is really nice and authentic Egyptian with none if the hassle (and if your in Egypt, you need an oasis from that). The food looks lovely and tastes good and is brought out in decent time. I had the fish and chips as well as the chicken curry and... read more

We stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant here every meal because the food was great and there was enough variety to keep trying new local things. It was also so calm - we loved the location overlooking the temple of Luxor and the Nile, beautiful and relaxing. The homemade lemon and mint was fantastic and the children... More

My wife and I enjoyed spectacular Egyptian food on the rooftop of this excellent restaurant. The setting made for an even better experience as we could watch marriage ceremonies going on below in the streets and really take in the atmosphere of temple street. Luxor temple was lit up and we had a great view from our table.Although no alcohol... More

Once you climb the stairs of Nefertiti you are rewarded with this gem of Luxor! This was our favourite restaurant in Luxor, we went back many times as the food was fantastic! The staff were very friendly, especially the manager, a genuinely kind man who made sure we weren't hungry. I recommend the camel, absolutely tasty stuff, melted of the... More

This was one of our best meals in Luxor. It is located opposite the avenue of sphinxes at Luxor temples. You enter by a lane. The offer tables on the street or in the roof. We chose to go up to the balcony on the roof. We went for lunch and the views of Luxor temple were fantastic. The service... More

We stayed at Nefertiti and had our daily breakfast, lunch & dinner here. Yummy food, both Arabian & Western, with really great staffs, especially Mehmood!

Had two dinners here, both were extremely good; had camel one night, and roast pigeon the next. For both dishes you have to order the day before. Service was great, as was the view, and the ambiance was relaxing. A real oasis high above the streets of Luxor.

My wife and I sought out Al Sahaby restaurant after reading a good review in the Lonely Planet guide. We weren't disappointed. The terrace provided a respite from the constant harassment on the streets below. We started off lunch with an excellent lentil soup, followed by some equally good salad plates. The bread was among the best we tasted during... More

The menu is very varied with various salads, appeteizers and sandwiches and offers food you don't find that easily otherwhere (incl. traditional Egyptian food that is rare at the random roadside food stalls). (Chicken orange salad, encrusted cauliflower, Molookheeyah soup, shrimp, calamari, ...) and a variety of traditional Egyptian foods (Kofta, Tajin, Musaqa, Kebab H'alla, stuffed pigeon, stewed duck, rabbit,... After having walked around the area of Luxor Temple and the Souk, I took my lunch here. There are two spaces , One is on the roof top and other is on the side street. I recommend you to go to the room top, from which you can have a very good view of Luxor temple and its Sphinx avenue.... More
