This is hidden so rather than asking for the restaurant by name, instruct your driver to the Neffertiti Hotel. It is a rooftop restaurant and has the most amazing views of Luxor Temple. You do need to climb up maybe 6 flights of stairs but it is absolutely worth the work out. There were interesting statements on the placemats and... More

We arrived early morning from Cairo and were made to feel welcome at once. The staff were as helpful as possible in this family run local hotel. Our sightseeing tours for three days were organised for us to our itinery. The costs were very very reasonable indeed. We had the exclusive use of an air-conditioned car and an extremely all knowing... More

After reading some positive reviews on TripAdvisor, I found myself wanting to try this restaurant out, but either the staff was off for the day, but I found the offerings there only so-so. The signature dishes of the restaurant (camel stew/casserole) has to be ordered days ahead - something the reviews don't mention. So, in the future, I'll book the... More

lovely place to eat, just by the side of Om Kathoum. It has a good menu and a large room of to the side if the outdoor eating is not to your taste.

The culinary team cook up and serve excellent authentic Egyptian dishes like Moolekeyah soup and camel meat (a must try!). Service is top-notch. I stayed in Luxor for five days and have tried other restaurants while there. Al-Sahaby is by far the BEST.

Excellent food. I ate on the rooftop (a bit cool in December after sunset) and enjoyed both the food and the service. I went back several times and enjoyed the food at least as much as Sofran. Great Greek salad, stews, fresh guava juice.
