brought wrong food

They brought me a lamb tagine after I ordered vegetarian. Then wanted me to pay for both saying that the waiter would otherwise lose a days wage. The dish was nothing special.

I went to this place mid-afternoon to have a quick drink. The staff were busy cleaning, but gave a polite welcome and sorted a table quickly. The staff also took the time to open the drop down blinds for the view. My friends and I were not overcharged. The staff were polite and we got no hassle from the nearby... More

I ate at El Kababgy several times the last time I was in Luxor. How things change. It no longer serves alcohol so is nearly always empty. But my biggest problem was, I went there for lunch and took my boat captain and his friend. We all ordered the same main course, a couple of side dishes between us and... More

Food is average, when we went they did not have what I ordered so had to order something else. Very little vegetarian option. When went pay were short-changed, when I asked why we were told they had decided to take their own tip. I had argue that we would decide what tip, and it was unlikely be 50 per cent... More

The owner is over the top involved in ensuring that his customers are well taken care of and treated like gold. He appreciates that we could have had dinner anywhere so he really dotes over his customers. The food is very good! Afterwards the owner even had his nephew drive us back to our hotel (free).

The vegetable tagine was good, but the chicken kebab was undercooked and we had to send it back. Though they took care of it right away, the food was ultimately just okay, but the staff were very friendly. With tourism levels way down, they weren't getting much business and asked whether we'd come back tomorrow; however, the overall experience wasn't... More

Rough Guides isn't very nice about this place - but it's wrong, wrong, wrong. Food is fab, service is great and the views are lovely.

Good food but pricier than most places in Luxor. The waiters tried to overcharge us on our third visit so won't be going there again. A shame really as we were the only tourists there on all 3 visits and practically the only customers. Make sure you get an itemised bill and check it!

The only good thing about this place is its location next to the Nile. The waiter messed up the order, the food was boring and overpriced.
