The Egyptians are not known for their "Haute Cuisine" but the Nubian restaurant does pretty good and you get a lot for your money, so come hungry. As all Egyptians, the people are super nice and will bend backward to please. Dine on the terrace, the view is magnificient. In one scope you get the Old Cataract hotel on its... More

Our guide suggested us to eat there, we did it and today I don’t have any regrets. Good food, no problems, good atmosphere, excellent juices and super view. It was an All Inclusive trip so I can’t say anything about real price-quality ratio ... but ... BUT ... 10 minutes after asking for one menu, they gave me one with... More

It's fun taking a boat out to an island in the Nile.We arrived just before sunset which is a nice time to enjoy the view of the river, the ruins of Elephantine and the surrounding landscapes. The waiter was informative and the service was good, but the food was very average. The fish was tasty but overcooked and the chicken... More

Outside of the luxury hotels there are no really good restaurants in Aswan but this is one of the best. It is situated on its own island in the Nile, more or less opposite the Old Cataract Hotel. You can get a free boat ride there from a dock on the corniche just before you get to the Hotel. You... More

We sat outside and had the beautiful view of the Nile and the Cataract Hotel. Overpriced and the food was OK but we had better food at Al Masry.

Our guide recommended this restaurant, and we paid US$30 each including transfers by boat from our hotel, for the "set menu". This was a choice of Egyptian or Nubian, and we chose the latter. Soup, breads, an astonishing selection of salad and dips, and the main course, a sort of tagine, again with a choice, fish, beef or chicken, plus... More

The restaurant is situated on a hill on a small island with a lovely view of Elephantine Island. We enjoyed a traditional Nubian meal starting with Egyptian and Nubian sun bread, then hummus, sesame and tahini dips and a main course of rice and tangines of fish, chicken, or beef and sautéed vegetables. The food was nicely seasoned, service was... More

When we arrived in Aswan after about 4 days in Egypt we wanted to try some real Egyptian food and so asked our guide for a recommendation. He took us to this restaurant and we really enjoyed the food. I would say over priced by North American standards but still the mezzes were excellent and the main dishes a choice... More

Our guide in Aswan sold us the trip and meal to this restaurant as soon as we arrived at our hotel, but I think we should have given it a miss. It's not that it was really bad but it is not the place to go for a taste of authentic Nubian cuisine. When we got there the place was... More
