If you want great authentic Egyptian food, go to an establishment where the locals eat. (there is a small shop across the street that is always busy and is delicious) But if you want a few cheap beers, after a long hot day, go to Emy's. The top floor bar is always full of friendly, talkative locals. Bring in food... More

I rather liked this restaurant. It's a double-story barge anchored to the bank of Nile, with good views of the endlessly fascinating river traffic. The whole barge lists a bit to one side, which gives it an authentically quaint feel, I suppose. Lights are dim at night which makes the atmosphere seem more intimate than some of the competing barge-restaurants.... More

we were traveling with a family from England and we both had read about Emy Restaurant in our respective travel guides. Against our tour guides recommendations we wanted to try Emy's as they boasted 'dining on the Nile'. We were seated on the dimly lit floating barge with dingy canvas curtains (to protect against the evening breeze) the tables and... More

Surroundings were good and the staff was very helpful, but the service was very slow even though we were the only customers. Prices are a bit high given the quality of the food. As usual everything looks a bit dusty and run down. They are one of the few places to serve vegetarian food.

Its true... I wanted a cold beer on the Corniche... Who wouldn't by looking at the Nile at sunset. After getting two small cans of beer (10 EP each) and an aubergine meat entree (35 EP)... The waiter/family member quoted me 94 EP... Being relaxed... I wasnt thinking.... Oh yea and soft porn was playing on the TV.. Then I... More

Emy is a bar/restaruant of two parts. The slightly listing floating area and the solid on-dry-land bar. The staff are friendly as are the local regulars. It is primeaily a drinking establishment - eating there is only for the brave or foolhardy. My friend and I spent several nights there in May 2011 and, when I had grown bored of... More

There is a selection of Egyptian food on offer here with great baladi bread , fresh from the market. Beer is 13 LE for a Sakara. Local Stella is cheaper. Water and drinks reasonable value. This is popular stop-off on The Nile Corniche. Surroundings are very basic but service is outstanding. The star of the show is Mona. She is... More

We ate dinner at Emy. The food was average as were the prices. The service was good. The restaurant has a nice location on the river, but its has seen better days. It is a little shabby and run-down.

We got there after a long stroll around the town hoping to have a quick bite. Ordered beef skewers thinking this would be the fastest meal to be cooked... Bad luck, we waited for 55 minutes and finally got the dishes with slightly warm beef and fries (( However, the place has nice view over the Nile.
