Better at night, cool and comes to life

I went twoce, daytime and again at night. During the day the pace seemed slow, somewhat 'not fully open for business' but managed to get some bargains. When I went at night, the place came to life... lights, music, more shops open (which can also mean more hassle) so learn the words "LA SHOCKRUN... read more

There is nothing special about this restaurant in Mena House Hotel. Traditional Egyptian food but not cooked nicely. There are now many restaurants offering Egyptian food with higher standards in terms of quality and taste

Our travel agent booked a lunch for us here and what a treat it was! First of you can not beat the location nor atmosphere! We had a table right by the window with a view of the great pyramid. An added bonus is the decor and furnishings! Located in an elegant hotel they exude luxury and opulence. The service... More

We came here after a very dusty day touring the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx during a sandstorm. What a respite to come to this luxurious restaurant, located inside a resplendent historic hotel. We had a three-course lunch at 3 pm, which was just what we needed after a big, indulgent breakfast at our hotel and a long day of... More

The food is excellent, the place is a dream and the view, there is nothing like that. Service great, as expected from Mena House.

This is the casual restaurant in the Mena House, where the breakfast buffet is set up. Right out the window is the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Breakfast buffet has everything from cereal and eggs to traditional Egyptian fuul (beans). Do not miss the lentil soup at lunch or dinner!

The market is a bit of a maze if shops but nothing extraordinarily complex. Primarily it is a curio market and the sales persons can be a bit pushy sometimes but nothing alarming. For someone going from South Asia especially the Indian sub-continent, it is nothing extraordinary as there are multiple such markets in various cities. Worth one visit.
