Culturally rich cafe ideal for a late night drink and snack

A bistro type looking cafe with an Egyptian twist, the walls are covered in caricatures and photos of cultural icons. Nasser hung out here prior to the 1952 revolution. It is has a cosy atmosphere we had several local Stella beers. The service is not super fast but if you want a casual drink and... read more

The breakfast menu is not very rich with options, the place looks nice as it has lots of history with all the vintage cinematic actors which have passed through the place at its time, cosy in general with its antique style. Did not try the meals so i can not comment on that.

This place could have been in Paris or Istanbul. Very classic bistro with great food and drinks. A perfect place to meet friends on your first day or last day of a visit to Cairo. This place has been a gathering of freethinkers and movers and shakers for almost 100 years. Ask the owner if you can get a tour... More

The food is very mediocre if not poor. And then the service. What can I say...terrible. One of my friends actually very politely asked the floor manager kinda guy if the waiter could pay just a little bit more attention, as response the man said: "you can go to another restaurant if you don't like it". Bottom line: terrible service,... More

The location is right in the heart of Downtown. The décor is old world charm. As is the ambience. The service, food, wine and prices make this a memorable place to dine. I love to have a final farewell dinner here before leaving Cairo. Its charming in every detail.

in the downtown Cairo finding a clean establishment is harder than finding an honest man in the parliament, that is why Cafe Riche gets its only star. it is clean. other than that the food is so bad I am having difficulties finding a metaphor, extremely bland mezes not even with a single drop of olive oil, half of the... The waiters there, actually everyone working there, are very rude. The food and the dessert is average, not bad but not the greatest. The person in charge the day I was there last week told me and my friends that we have to order dinner and that we cannot order only drinks and dessert, funny because its called "Cafe" Riche... The traditional Cairo hang-out of intellectuals and artists has its superb charm and friendly Nubian waiters. Stella beer is good anywhere in Cairo, but this is a classic place to drink your beer. The menu hasn't changed much in ages. Traditional. No refinement, so visit the place for the atmosphere and if you need to eat a bit, then get... More

The only reason I would go there is the historic background. Food is below average and waiters are really rude. I don't appreciate door check policy too at all. Grab a coffee or tea there avoid meals
