This is a rare gem in Cairo with consistently good food, great ambience and a beautiful setting on the Nile. It can get a little expensive if you go with the waiters recommendation as they encourage you to have hot and cold starters, cous cous, and a tagine which is usually too much food. Otherwise it is manageable and worth... More

This restaurant is fantastic. The food here is just so delicious. There isn't much Moroccan food to be found in Cairo, but when you live here, it is nice to have a break from the typical Egyptian and Middle Eastern menus throughout the city. Sofitel's standards are extremely high, and it is well represented in their restaurant menus. The food... More

This is my first visit and I was impressed with the ambience and hospitality. I was not too impressed with the food, except maybe with the Herira soup and complimentary starters and bread. The mains were OK, nothing worth the mention anyway. We were seated right on the Nile which was great, but worst bit is the loud feloukas roaming... More

The food at La Palmeraie is enjoyable (can Moroccan really be bad?) but the true draw is the Nile-side location, indoor/outdoor setting, and live Oud music. This place is definitely worth a visit if you want a nice setting on the Nile with lovely views. Move to the patio after your meal for tea, coffee, and shisha. Service at Sofitel... More

I love, love, love this restaurant. The ambiance is excellent, the food is outstanding and the service is top notch. You have a great view of the Nile and can watch all of the party boats floating by. The breads are great, the salads are fresh and tasty. The main courses, be they tagines or couscous dishes are fantastic. My... More

Location: Right at the banks fo the nile you can either sit inside or outside (it can get cold due to the wind) under palm trees and have a wondeful view over the nile and watch the evening come to Cairo. It is in the middle of the city but very quite (the only real noise coming form sun of... More

My advice to you is to sit on the terrace during sunset time. Enjoy your dinner by the nile from the terrace, and then u can have some moroccan tea in the outdoor area. The food, hmmmm...I suggest you go for the appetizers hot n cold, soup, as well as the salads they are all really delicious. We loved them.... More
