I visited the Zamalek restaurant L'Aubergine twice in one week, once by myself and once with friends. I had the same dishes each time. A delicious potato croquette (bomba) filled with smoked salmon for a starter 20 LE and the gnocchi with blue cheese sauce for main 40LE, both were delicious. A stella beer cost 30LE and there was a... More

Service was good, although upstairs we weren't allowed to sit anywhere because all of the (empty) tables were reserved. Finally convinced the staff that we would only be an hour and were able to... let's start by saying this is a very unique restaurant. It's has the feeling of old Egypt. The first thing you notice as you walk in the grand front entrance is the smoke. Plan to wash your clothes the next day because you'll smell it on your clothes as soon as you wake up. By modern standards it's only worth... More

My friend and I wanted to get a quick drink last night. At the entrance we were stopped by a man in a Pink Shirt. I was dressed conservatively in a long skirt and shirt; he looked me up and down and told both my friend and I that the restaurant was full. As he was saying this, two patrons... More

There are two L'Aubergine, one in Zamalek which is two levels but relatively small with short ceiling. The other one is located in Heliopolis near to Tivoli Dome just a couple of mile from El Thawra St. It is closed, no open air area, the setting and the decor is nice and makes you feel comfortable. It is more a... More
