the food is good but the inside of the restaurant is so full of smoke. i don't know if they have a non smoking area but i guess that would not help much either. the electricity went off during our meal, but the staff were able to put emergency lights on all tables.

We had late lunch at Abou El Sid, as soon as we were seated the waiter told me that there's a minimum order of 160 L.E. each but surprisingly our bill came out to be a little less than that but he didn't say anything about the minimum order, I am not sure what was his intention. The waiters were... More

I was in Cairo for business and this place recommended by a local colleague who took us there. Food was great especially the Molokhia soup and mixed kebab with local rice. We had lots of different dishes. The service was great and the location of the place hidden in the backstreet with middle eastern decor gave the restaurant a local... More

We planned on going to a different restaurant but the hotel concierge insisted we go here . The restaurant is in a nice part of town . Once you enter do not expect a formal dining experience . This place feels more like a smokey pub than a restaurant . Small tables with bar stools and a lot of hookah... More

I had lunch at the iconic restaurant Abou El Sid in Kuwait. The seating indoors is traditional and full of colors. I ordered a light starter of Bessara, a simple dish of fava beans and coriander dip, I also enjoyed Circasian Chicken in Walnut Sauce as my main course, and it is a great dish with aromatic flavor. I had... More

In this restaurant you get the best authentic Egyptian food in a nice atmosphere. I have been to the restaurant in Zamalek & the one in City Stars Mall, both are excellent.

I tried the Maadi branch, 7 Street. The decoration simulates rich home in the Egyptian countryside with paintings of old famous actors on walls. The food is really tasty but of high caloric content. All traditional Egyptian meals are available. The service is good and fast. Price is reasonable.

Abou El-Sid is for sure the best place to try authentic Egyptian food. The portions are large and the spices are the closest to Egyptian home made food. The service is excellent and seating is very spacial to give the feeling of lavish home old Egypt style of dining.
