Yes you must go

Go for the history, go for the cultural interest, go for the wonderful tea and shish. But most of all go for the total experience which is truly unique.

The place is very good and comfortable. Shisha flavor is so good. The price is very high compared with any other shops in Cairo. The normal Shisha in Cairo (non tourism areas) is 1 EGP which is less than 0.2 USD

Its a landmark and should have its own world heritage listing i think. People flock here from all over the world to soak up the ambience and take a mint tea or egyptian coffee. The coffee with cardomom is divine . some people take double apple shisha here . Lots of interesting things to look at . The place is... More

Tucked down a small alley, is the oldest coffeehouse in Cairo. What a great place to grab a drink and smoke some Hookah. The atmosphere is also very welcoming even to foreigners. Unfortunately there are some locals that will try to sell you junk while your soaking in the experience but don't let that stop you!

Fishawi's, an iconic coffee house, is a landmark in itself. There are few specific things to see in the Khan el-Khalili souk, but Fishawi’s Coffeehouse, is an absolute must. Its on a small alley in the souk, having huge mirrors hung on the walls and its packed day and night. It claims to have been open continuously since the year... More

If you want to get through true feel of life in Cairo...this is a must stop. We sat here in the evening to enjoy beverages and soak in the ambience. No regrets. Yes there are peddlers and beggars that will stop by, just say no. We actually had fun talking with a few of the peddlers and they chuckled with... More

Classic, old cafe stuffed with locals and tourists. Not sure if one really goes for the smoke or coffee, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. One can sit there for hours taking in the sights and sounds and drift off. No laptops, piped in music, or moccha frappucinni--praise be to God.

If you want a taste of the old egypt this would be a place not to miss... There you won't get the best service but you will feel how it used to be back in the days and the walls speak for it selves! There you feel a go back in time when everything was simply with the good old... More

A 1900s tea house buried in the Khan El Khalili Souk - truly a unique experience with echoes of a bygone time. Just to sit, drink tea and absorb the energy of the market life is a wonderful experience. Tip ; ask the waiter to sell you a one person tea pot - you won't find a souvenir like it... More
