In a small alley just off Midan Al Hussein in the heart of the Khan Al-Khalli bazaar, this ancient cafe is a focal point for locals and tourists alike. Only drinks and shisha are served, no food or snacks. No printed menu so be sure to ask the price first. An experience!

What a hidden gem of a place - a real treasure in the middle of the souk. Go with a local or you will never find it! This popular venue (you will queue for a table at night) seems to never close, and what wonderful friendly service. Choose to sit inside in the peace and quiet (away from the street... More

Fishawi café established many years ago. With it's historical design and antiques you can feel that you returned to the present past of cairo. Most of time is crowded and also you will find a lot of silly sellers who trying to make you buy anything as everywhere in khan el khalili. During your tour at khan el khalili you... More

A very famous cafe place in Egypt. Small place and extremely crowded during the night. Be prepared to be hassle by paddlers. Mint tea is ok.

When my wife and I travel, we enjoy getting a little touch of local life. Granted, Fishawy's Coffeehouse is located in the middle of one of the bigger 'tourist draws', Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, it still retains some of the old world charm that we were hoping for. After battling the gauntlet of vendors trying, sometimes physically, to drag us into... More

Amazing to sit in a coffee house that has been trading since before European civilization in Australia. The place is tucked away in the bowels of markets (which are also worth a wander) but an experience worth going the extra mile for. A mint tea and shisha in this spot (along with a few photos) is a memory forever. Our... More

Service is egyptian style... You are dragged into the coffeeshop and impatiently asked what you want, but once you get your mint tea you are at peace to drink it (except for the hawkers) and watch the chaotic suk life unravel... The tea is good and inexpensive, and the atmosphere is worth a visit, even if it is not precisely... More

Go for the history, go for the cultural interest, go for the wonderful tea and shish. But most of all go for the total experience which is truly unique.
