Get the kimchi and pulled pork fries! Not sure why people complain about portion size, you can order a plate with 2 or 3 tacos. Three is plenty. The only downside is they charge for bringing out more chips. One of my favorite places to eat whenever I made it to Seoul.

After years of visiting Seoul this trip in April was like the whole Itaewon district had bloomed. Vatos was a very cool restaurant run by Korean American. Very hip and hard to get into but worth the visit. Drinks were fabulous along with Kimchi Fries. Highly recommend. Great ambience and lively crowd and good food.

Locals rave about Vatos, but I believe there are better options. The food and the service are very good, but the portions are small and prices are higher. Even so, the kimchi fries are worth a visit. Great location on Itaewon and always busy.

Have been here a few times and the first time was awesome even though it was expensive. However the other two times I've been there it was just mediocre and expensive. If you pay a lot of money at least it should be good like the first time! Maybe they changed the chef? Or maybe the chef is out every... More

Very pricey for small portions. Street tacos that are very small. Granted they are delicious but wanted more for my money. Salsas are really good but extra chips will cost you. Drinks looked good but prices were a factor. Nice place to visit once for the experience.

Very busy & had to wait for a table which is a good sign in our travel experiences. Authentic Mexican flavors, tacos were delicious & nice and spicy but not eye-watering hot. Nice beers too. Definitely recommend.

We had a great afternoon here. It was very busy (always a good sign), so we had to put our name down and wait outside on the deck for a while. This was understandable given that we were a large group, but, the place was so popular that even a number of smaller groups had to wait a short time.... More

I enjoyed the menu at Vatos, the prices are inline with the going rate in Itaewon (₩16,000 for a burger). Beef is expensive anywhere there, with that being said, I enjoyed the meal and was not disappointed in any way. I Sat at the bar on an early Saturday afternoon and watched the place fill up quickly. There was a... More

If you come to Seoul and you want non-korean food, be prepared to pay more than you do at home. It's a given. But as someone who is always looking for restaurants that serve non korean fare using authentic ingredients rather than locally available korean substitutes, the dishes here are genuine. Yes, the menu is Korean/Mex. Get used to it.... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
