I enjoyed the menu at Vatos, the prices are inline with the going rate in Itaewon (₩16,000 for a burger). Beef is expensive anywhere there, with that being said, I enjoyed the meal and was not disappointed in any way. I Sat at the bar on an early Saturday afternoon and watched the place fill up quickly. There was a... More

If you come to Seoul and you want non-korean food, be prepared to pay more than you do at home. It's a given. But as someone who is always looking for restaurants that serve non korean fare using authentic ingredients rather than locally available korean substitutes, the dishes here are genuine. Yes, the menu is Korean/Mex. Get used to it.... More

I went to this place with some co workers for lunch. Everyone was raving about their food. I'm not a big taco fan, but they are OK. Problem was that these were not like any taco I ever had before. They cater to Korean's with a Korean taste. If you are looking for Mexican or American Tacos, you may be... More

Kimchi Fries are amazing The tacos are a little small , but very tasty. The Tequila chicken wings are great as well. Drinks are not cheap but don't lack liquor at all. They pack a punch! With multiple locations all over Seoul, if you see one you should definitely try it - especially if there is no line.

Took my wife and a friend of ours here and Vatos did not disappoint. I had intention to take my wife here earlier but there was always a line...expected when the food is good. I think we had something of everything on the menu and all of our choices were amazing. I only wanted a coke but seeing the Sweet... More

Fantastic fusion between Mexican and Korean. Usually too crowded; and I've always had to wait during dinner time on the weekend. More expensive than Mexican food joints in the States

As it was Cinco de Mayo, I had to find a Mexican restaurant in South Korea. I ultimately relied on trip advisor, which led my family and I to Vatos Urban Tacos. Our table had the chips & salsa/verde, Kimchi Fries, and the fat burrito bowl. All of which were really good. The atmosphere and friendly staff also made the... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
