Great Food, not the best place to have a conversation

The Tacos and starters were great, the service was great too, the down sides are the wait for a Friday night (an hour) and it was impossible to hear each other talk due to the concrete floors and walls and acoustics of the place. The crowd was mostly 20's business hip crowd with families mixed in both American and Korean.

Got a lot of suggestions to go here. It didn't disappoint. Food is really fresh and taste great. It was really packed for a winter Monday night and we sat at the bar. Drinks were great and so was the service.

The service wasn't bad, although the waitresses got kind of annoying coming to our table every other second asking if they could take a plate away. The food was decent, but obviously over priced just like every other western style restaurant in Korea. The margaritas were pretty good, although it was hard to tell if they even put any alcohol... Our tour guide, Rob Koh, recommended Vatos Urban Tacos for lunch and now we have a favorite Seoul restaurant. A delicious blending of Korean and Mexican foods, this was a welcome, perfectly spiced-up discovery for two Texans visiting Korea. The Kimchi Carnitas Fries are awesome alongside the Barbacoa tacos. My wife had the Grow a Pear margarita and I had... More

Vatos basically changed the restaurant scene in Seoul. The food and drinks are great, but not that cheap.

Came here on a Saturday night at about 8pm and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but it was worth it!! The decor is amazing and the staff are awesome and speak very good English. We had the kimchi carnitas fries, Baja fish tacos and the chips with salsa and loved everything. For drinks I highly recommend... More

This place was really good! Crowded but got a table w/i 20 minutes. Hopping busy place and all of the staff was professional. Owner, hottie I might add, is from SoCal. Super nice guy, very attentive to the customers, and kept the place running smoothly. Our server was American as well, Great service! That night was about 80% locals and... More

So this has been a leader in tacos in Seoul. They have three locations but we went to the one in Itaewon. We had a 30 minute wait since we didn't have a reservation. The waiting area was heated though. Fish tacos were the leader of the day! They were he unanimous favorite of the group!

This Mexican restaurant is at one end of Itawoen road just slightly up a steep road. First impressions are good as the queue to get a table is long and we had to wait around 30minutes to get a table. Luckily there's a covered seated area where you can wait and hence not too cold in winter. The atmosphere is... More

Si!! Si!! Si!! We wouldn't have thought so prior to entering this restaurant. We arrived there 30 minutes after they opened - best time to go as we didn't have to wait for a table as they get busy real quick! As soon as we tasted the salsa - we knew it was going to be good. They definitely do... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
