Nice Indian food at Seoul

Friendly, helpful service, take away food prepared while you sip a free coffee, nice quiet dining ambience, and delicious Indian food. For vegetarians caught in the centre of Seoul, it can be hard to find vegetarian food (the temple food is further away), and Taj is the solution. Meat and seafood also available.

Having read several good reviews on this restaurant, my husband and I decided to have a meal there last night before going to the theatre, in Myeongdong. What a disappointment! Although the place itself is beautifully presented in true Indian style, the service was terrible with miserable looking waiters who could not even offer a smile. One sat on his... More

The have posted signs for lunch and dinner. We tried for the second time to visit this restaurant. The first time we arrived after their posted lunch time, so no problem. The sign says they are open until 3 for lunch. We arrived at 2:30 and was told they were closed ( the staff were all eating). They basically said... More

I stopped in after looking for a place to eat in Jung-Gu (I stayed at the Pj Hotel) and finding nothing...or at least nothing in English...I found Taj Taste of India. Wonderful staff, excellent service, and great food. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, house wine, and garlic naan. After feeling my face sweat I knew the Vindaloo was spivey. Two... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
