Excellent lamb shanks!

The meat fell right off the bone, the spinach was really good, and loved the mashed potatoes. Unfortunately they didn't have lamb meat pies which I was craving. However, this is one of the restaurants that matches the hype in Itaewon.

This is cosy restaurant run by very nice people offering great food at reasonable prices. Visited for dinner with a group of friends. Chicken Pie with side of creamy spinach was absolutely delicious. House wine was not bad. Must visit this place if you are in Itaewon.

Loved the Lamb pie and the creamy spinach that was just one of the many sides you could order. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very popular so it is advisable to book. We were lucky in that although it was Ladies night ( free wine refills for the Ladies) we got a table without having to... More

Loooooove their lamb shank and their amarello cheesecake. The restaurant is small but the staff is lovely enough to take your name and number so you can hang at near bye pub till a table is ready for you. My first time at a braii restaurant.

The lamb pie, chops, creamy spinach is to die for. You will often fight over who gets the last lamb pie so be prepared to share. The fried prawns as a side is also very big and juicy. The cheesecakes look a little rustic but are so creamy and good. Unlike many fluffy whipped cream like cheesecakes, the ones here... More

Went here 3 or 4 times and they never had lamb pies. The final time we called and reserved pies in advance but when we got there, only half the pies we had reserved were there. The staff member apologised and said we could wait for 2 hours for more pies. He then suggested we have a potjkie instead so... More

Braai Republic is a tucked away gem in Itaewon. I had never tried South African food before, so imagine my delight when a hot plate of perfectly seared lamb chops, creamed spinach, and mashed sweet potatoes was set in front of me. Not only does each component taste delicious, but together it makes for one of those bites where you... More

Was motivated to visit out of curiosity and a 'need' for a decent western food. Went with 3 friend looking for a good meaty dinner and drinks. The bar-like, laid-back atmosphere was comforting, like easing into a worn in sofa. We ordered the variety of meats and sausages and I enjoyed them all! My two friends weren't too keen on... More

Visited with friends on Korean st Patrick's day (sat night). The place was packed with an hour wait. We were called in 30 mins and had the lamb chops (from Aus 😶) and Wors. Also the livers and meat pie. My guests were blown away by the hospitality of the owner who is a card. He makes the restaurant and... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
