This one's for the meat lovers!

If you're after authentic braai (barbecue) meat then look no further, this is probably the best you're going to get in Korea. Being a South African and away from home for 6 months now, it was about time I gave this place a go. Aaahh, that great taste of boerewors after such a long time was a... read more

A great place to grab some South African food in an Asian city! The lamb chops are amazing and have yet to find their equal in my travels. I also recommend the boerewors.

My favorite non-Korean food in Seoul. Timeless cooking; just meat and vegetables, the end. I always get lamb, potatoes, and cabbage. Unlike most places they do NOT cover the meat in sugar sauce, or fry it in breading...just plain meat! Meat is already great, no need to mess with it people. I'm not usually a desert person, but the cheese... More

Food was delicious and the owner is superfriendly. The place is rocked down a little, but if you like a good break,it's a prefect pick.

This South African restaurant is said to be very authentic. The pies, sausage and lamb were really good. The music was festive and the staff a lot of fun as we went through their list of shots. The Amarula cheese cake is now my favourite. This is a fabulous spot.

Been there many times and have only walked away happy as. The lamb is always well cooked. When you need a warm filling pie, it is the perfect spot. They have several types of pies (lambs, mixed meat, spicy pork, and chicken). All will make you happy. The Braai also offers a variety of great SA drinks. Just a lovely... More

The Bunny Chow at Braai Republic has to be some of the most posh I've ever had. Bunny Chow in normally just a hollowed out 1/3 loaf of bread with curry inside. Their Bunny Chow includes a garnish of Banana Slices and a yogurt sauce waterfall going down one side to end in a green salad. The Bunny Chow has... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighborhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
