Nice Porridge

The restaurant is located near to my hotel. I tried the abalone porridge which is nice. I especially liked the octopus side dish.

The porridge and even the ginseng chicken was good. Service is great, makes you feel welcomed. Staff is friendly and can speak Chinese ans some English. You have got to try this restaurant. Landmark close by is the Catholic church. Its on the 2nd floor, so you might need to keep your eyes wide open to find it. Only reason... More

We went to the restaurant erroneously expecting porridge/congee as per reviews, but their menu listed only ginseng chicken and abalone porridge. We asked for a vegetarian porridge/congee option and told there was none available, so we unfortunately left without trying their food.

Refill here before going off again for the next site. GInseng chicken for energy and assorted congee for soul. Clean fresh environment, quick service and a soothingly quiet atmospere. Excellent.

The food is good and the portion is just nice for breakfast. The location of the restaurant is in Mydeong and is very near to our hotel. Will visit again if we ever go to Seoul.

This place was right opposite our hotel. It was freezing cold in Seoul so we came here for breakfast to warm our stomached. They only serve congee but it tasted so good. We came twice during our stay in Seoul. English menu available and staff very friendly.

We had snow crab and abalone porridge. They were nice porridge but it's average when compared to other restaurants in Korea that serve similar porridge. However, if you don't have time to try porridge elsewhere in Korea, you should try this place.

Although it is kind of pricey but I enjoyed it. Not the normal Porridge you would have in Singapore. Love the ginseng chicken porridge most. The service staff are kind and very polite. A must visit place if you want to a non-spicy or non-kimchi related food in korea. Haha ~

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
