We were brought here by our Korean host. Located near Gwanghwamun Square. Neighboring stores are quite upscale. Dishes are served in a sequence according the menu. Regular Korean dishes were presented in a beautifully delicate way yet tastywhich would make one appreciate the food not just by tasting but also by looking at it. Our host showed us how to... More

Visited for dinner as a couple. We were in Seoul for quite a few nights and figured we'd give Korean fine dining a go. This was recommended by our hotel. It was within walking distance and Yongsusan seems to be a reputable chain for higher end Korean dining in Seoul. It is located in the financial district and in the... More

We were only in Seoul for 2 nights and decided to choose "Traditional Korean Cuisine" for one of our dining experiences. We took a cab as the hotel was in the Financial District, a bit of a distance from our hotel (as well as having to find our way through the building to the downstairs location|), and we didn't want... I brought my parents to both Hanmiri and Yongsusan and both restaurants serve distinctively different styles of royal cuisine. Yongsusan serves royal cuisine with its roots in North Korea. I am a newbie at Korean cuisine but what is distinctive of the royal cuisine at Yongsusan is that it does not have over-powering flavors. Each dish is gentle on the... More

Over-rated and over-priced, this place is strictly for people looking at "high-class" imperial Korean cuisine. Frankly, give me bibimbap and bulgogi any day.

After reading nice reviews we decided to have dinner here. We got a cab from the hotel and got there at 8:05pm. Unfortunately we didnt got to eat because the last order is at 8pm!! I dont understand how that's possible being Seoul! Even Jeonju has restaurants that close later. On the other hand there is a nice barbecue restaurant... More

There are 7 branches of this restaurant chain. One of them is actually located in LA. I went to the one located across from the Gyungbok Palace/National Folk Museum. I was expecting traditional Korean food but it was actually fusion. The food is good but I cannot say it is execellent. The portion though small, for me is fine but... More

I've been twice in this restaurant on my recent trip to Seoul. This is relatively expensive restaurant, expect to pay somewhere between 40-60 USD for a full menu, while a decent meal can be had for much less in Seoul (10 USD or so). On the other hand, quality and variety of food served is well worth the price. First... More

This elegant restaurant offers a table d'hote menu that is all encompassing, elegant and delicious. A Korean friend arranged the reservation and the meal, wanting us to have a complete taste of Korean cuisine. We were ushered to a private room where two servers began bringing small, beautifully presented dishes. We did ask them to slow down a bit so... More
