This place must have special arrangements with tour operators as the dinners were all tourists delivered by coaches. They offer mass produced ordinary street food as set meal in hygienic ambience with English speaking service personnel. They are air-conditioned dinning room in the second floor as well as out door seatings. They also served cold beer and other bottled beverages.

We were brought here and collected by our guide but realised that parking could be a problem - we sat outside and could see various people trying to find somewhere to leave their vehicle.. We requested to sit outside as we like to watch what is going on even if it is just parking problems. Also the temperature was very... More

We were dropped off here by our guide and picked up so had no issues with getting to/from but it's not in a great location and has little-no parking. The staff were very friendly and seated the two of us in our own private air conditioned room which was a nice sentiment but meant we didn't experience much of an... More

I ate lunch at the Green Elephant one rainy day when I was near Inya Lake and was delighted with the food, service and location. I stuck to traditional Myanmar dishes. The Rakhine Style Fish Paste Curry was rich and spicy, with prawns and great flavor. Also tried the Green Aubergine Salad, made with smoked eggplant which gave it a... More

We have ordered dinner twice within one week at the Green Elephant and were disappointed twice. If it comes to Thai food the kitchen staff has no idea how to prepare and cook a tasty meal.Their Yellow Curry Chicken is disgusting and tastes more like sweet and sour chicken with a very sweet and artificial bitter taste. They did not... More

Out of the 15 plus restaurants we have visited in Yangon during July 2014 - this Green Elephant Restaurant franchise, has been the worst. Lets start with the parking... no where to park since two big 4WD's took the 3 spaces available at the front street, so I drove up the small driveway to the end and turned around and... More

The 6 of us were seated outside on the terrace. Our Myanma hosts ordered traditional dishes, mostly vegetables, 1 chicken 1 pork. They were simple yet the flavors were rich and bold. I would go back in a minute.

I ordered pad Thai and spring rolls through yangondoor2door service last night. The 6 spring rolls were huge but dripping with grease. They were completely soggy so I ate a few ends but then couldn't handle the oil that squished our with ever bite. Into the trash! Then I eventually pried open the slippery bag of noodles to reveal regular... More

We did not eat a regular meal at the Green Elephant but our travel agent, Ma Hliang of Go Go Star Travels, arranged a private cooking class. Although I thought the price - $102 US - was very high, compared to other cooking classes I've attended in SE Asia, there were not many choices. We arrived a bit early and... More

Beautiful grounds and incredible variety of local cuisine. We were taken there by locals who did all the ordering, so, unable to provide too many details, but, it was all delicious with a careful blend of spicy and not so. Our hosts paid, so, unable to comment on the price, but, suspect it was very reasonable. Although the attentive staff... More
