varied menu

We were staying on the Vintage Yacht Hotel on the river and this restaurant is 10 mins by cab. Varied menu catering for most tastes. Good food and service, worth a visit, all tourists as customers when we were there. Very reasonable cost. 3 of us came to $112 incl.

Monsoon has one of the most interesting menus to read in Asia featuring the popular cuisine of all Southeast Asia countries. It's a delight to read. The restaurant's setting is pleasant but there seems to be no management. We ordered six or seven dishes and all were served cold. The chicken satay was tough. The serving portions are a good... The setting of the restaurant is nice, and the servers were friendly. But that's about it. The food was really bad. We got a couple of appetizers, including a tea leaf salad, which was ok. The fish curry and fish cakes main course was a different story. The curry was bland, and the fish cakes really were inedible. Tough as... More

We went without booking and found the place packed. Had a drink at the bar and a table was available within about 10 minutes. The building and ambience of the restaurant are excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. The clientele was mostly western. The food was more than acceptable but not outstanding.

To expansive menu featuring to many countries. Im in Burma and i want trending Local culinary experiences. When a place is filled with snobby caucasians and a dirty menus and uninspired talent. The only thing it had going for it self was it offered a bit of comfort to the grimy hell from out on the street.

Our experience with this restaurant was the only negative one we had in our 10 day trip to Myanmar. Went there for tea; ordered drip coffee and fish fingers, the coffee arrived pretty quickly albeit in a cracked glass (not a small crack but one you could cut your lips on if not careful). The fish fingers refused to arrive... More

I'm a bit of a sucker for a High Tea, especially if it's in the sort of atmosphere which makes you feel part of some sort of Raj Era novel. Monsoon looked the part and had the prices to match, but we were in the mood and peckish. The High Tea was advertised on a board outside and was from... More

The cafe's interiors are pleasant. It might be a good place for a drink or coffee. The smoothie and Viet coffee was good. We then waited over half an hour for our snack which did not arrive and gave up as we had only a day in Yangon and other things to do.

The place is nice, in an old house but it is noisy as the restaurant is always crowded. Some food is very good while some like the satay chicken had no taste at all.

Housed in an old colonial bank, Monsoon had good food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. I tried the local tealeaf salad dish which was tasty with lots of texture. Mr P had a coconut soup with noodles which was delicious! The curries are good, although I found the style a bit saltier than I'm used to. Food overall is good,... More
