Like another reviewer said, this is the only place we ate where we were disappointed. I had some chicken dish with capsicum relish and rice. At least the rice was good. The chicken and sauce were so watery. My fiance had the spaghetti bol and it tasted like it was out of a can. They are a little cheaper than... More

Of all the restaurants we ate at in Port Vila, this was the only one we were disappointed with. Our entrees were OK (the flaming prawns look exciting, but the taste is nothing to rave about), but our mains were terrible - dry chicken, greasy, flavourless pasta. The dessert menu was mostly just ice cream with different liqueurs poured over... More

Having visited Port Vila many many times this is still a great place to dine particularly as a couple. Started with the Escargot...could have had a little more butter but flavours spot on! Wife had the pidgeon and I the escolopes. Would have liked to had a dessert..but meals were very generous so no room. Le Houstalet is a must... More

I love Le Houstalet. My wife struggles with it. Every time we visit we do Le Houstalet and the food and atmosphere is great. The menu has been the same for ever. Great seafood and of course they don't do steak anywhere like they do in Vanuatu and Le Houstalet does great steaks. They also do flying fox! Havnt tried... More

I have been visiting Port Vila for 37 years, firstly when working on cruise ships and later because I always enjoy the stay here. I have also been eating at Clement's restaurant for as long as I have been going there - always great food, a magic host and never leave feeling hungry or overspent. Looking forward to the next... this restaurant was suggested, so we took a group of 10 for a wonderful dinner on the patio. Appetizers were great, I like the presentation of the escargot especially. The menu has a wide array of options, and every meal served at our table was better than excellent!! The owner is very personable and truly enjoys and takes pride in... More

We go to Vanuatu often and always come here for the lobster as you get the most generous serve size of all the island restaurants( up to 2-3 halfs) Cost about $45AUD Highly recommended

L'Houstalet is an institution in Vila. We had been 30 years ago and went during our recent trip and enjoyed the French food with a local twist, plus the charming and unpretentious atmosphere. A nice combination of good food, attentive friendly service and good value (for Vila).

This place is definitely worth a visit during your stay in Port Vila. We ordered prawn cocktail and goat cheese salad for entrée, and the grilled lobster and the crab as main and all the food was delicious. This place probably hasn't changed in 40 years but we loved the atmosphere there. Service was very attentive and professional, would definitely... More

This restaurant was recommend by some locals and we were not disappoinrted. Don't be put off by the decor as the food certainly makes up for that. You must try the Frensh Onion soup. The prawns were delicious but all our 6 main meals were of high quality. To ensure you have a break between courses ensure you order 1... More
